Today was rough. I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday morning and … it’s rough. I woke up and every joint in my body hurt and I had a mild fever. As the day went on, my temp started rising and I loaded up on Tylenol to be functional. I’m going between being hot and having chills, and everything still hurts. I had grand plans of swatching my little heart out this weekend, but that’s not happening – so I’ll be catching up on posts. First up – Hella Handmade Creations February 2021 offerings I was sent!

First things first, my nails aren’t “mine” I’m playing with Kiara Sky Gelly Tips in Short Coffin for fun and because my nails aren’t doing great in this freezing weather. I’ll be back to my naturals soon, but for now I wanted to have fun.

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and Atomic Polish Quick Dry Top Coat. I purchased the Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues, but the Atomic Polish Top Coat was gifted to me in a swatcher pack with no expectations of a review or feature.

I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I get the most done at night, so I swatch a lot at night. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

I’m 7 days early with this post (woo) but let’s jump in and take a look at the 12 polishes I have for you!

Alter Ego Body Care Products | Sorbonne Bearded Iris

Theme: Bearded Irises

Description: Sorbonne Bearded Iris is the first shade Alter Ego has created for HHC! This is a microglitter creation in a sheer grey jelly base. It contains a mix of black holo, red holo and gold holo microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Dries with a VERY mild texture, but should only need 1 coat of top coat to smooth.

Black Dahlia Lacquer | Blue Jean

Theme: David Bowie

Description: Blue Jean is a pale, slightly dusty blue jelly base with green to blue to purple to pink shifting iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade is a bit lighter in person. First coat is fairly sheer but it builds up nicely.

Description: To The Revolution is a medium cobalt blue (cold) to sheer milky white (warm) crelly based thermal with gold metallic flakes, ultra chrome chameleon flakes and iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Theme: My Little Pony Equestrian Girl series

Description: Apple Bloom is a warm pink jelly base with iridescent flakes, ultrachrome chameleon flakes, glitters, gold galaxy glitter and a subtle scattered holo. The flakes and glitters are primarily golds, pinks, aqua and green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cuticula Nail Care | Beyond The Veil

Theme: Lindsey Stirling 

Description: Beyond The Veil is a soft, dove grey crelly base packed with holographic flakes, irirdescent shifting flakes, chrome shifting flakes and rainbow iridescent shifting glitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Heather’s Hues | Everybody Breaks (Magnetic)

Theme: A Handmade’s Tale

Description: Everybody Breaks is a black to red multichrome with red to gold to silver magnetic multichrome pigment and a scattered holo effect. The mix of the magnetic shifting pigment and the multichrome base gives the polish an overall bronze/chocolate brown look. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I magnetized the middle, ring finger and thumb and left index and pinky unmagnetized.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer | I Find You Acceptable

Theme: Adventure Time Series

Description: I Find You Acceptable is a lemon yellow jelly base with bright blue to purple shifting aurora shimmer and blue to purple shifting iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you have an opaque VNL, it’s very possible it will still show through this polish unless you use a foundation base.

LynBDesigns | Not The Meek and Obedient Type

Theme: Outlander

Description: Not The Meek And Obedient Type is a deep navy blue to red to orange to yellow jelly based multichrome with scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I saw the navy blue and red shift easily, but the other shifts took a little more intense of an angle to see.

Pampered Polishes | Charm Bomb

Theme: Bob’s Burgers

Description: Charm Bomb is a slightly coral flamingo pink with platinum and holo micro flecks. It dries down to a matte finish, and I quite like it so I left it that way for these photos. Shown is 3 coats and no top coat.

Theme: Weather. Phenomena & Seasons

Description: It’s A Winterful Life is a slightly teal leaning blue crelly base with blue hologrpahic glitters and white glitters, as well as scattered holo and holo flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Red Eyed Lacquer | You’re Killing Me Smalls

Theme: The Sandlot

Description: You’re Killing Me Smalls is a greyed out blue crelly base with orange to gold to green shifting shimmer and flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Rogue Lacquer | London Eye

Theme: London (I think)

Description: London Eye is a black based multichrome that shifts black to red to gold, with rainbow metallic color shift flakes that shift violet to magenta to orange to gold, with scattered holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Hella Handmade Creations | February 2021

Little blue heavy this month, but still a decent mix. I like how Lollipop’s yellow jumps out though!

I didn’t have any application issues with any of these 12 polishes and I actually would wear them all again. I was impressed with the lineup of polishes I received.
