Happy Friday! It’s about 1am here and if now isn’t a perfect time to type up a post… I don’t know what is. We’re going to be looking at the Ethereal Lacquer Thorns & Roses Collection!

The Ethereal Thorns & Roses Collection is a 9 piece collection. I actually planned on getting this up a few days ago, but honestly the last month at work has been draining mentally and emotionally – so I’ve been doing a lot of swatching but not a lot of editing, so now I have a back log of posts I need to do.

For those unaware – I work in a specialty medical facility that deals with patients who have chronic pain. There are different branches within the facility and initially I was hired to work in the stem cell regenerative therapy division, but am now the main person for the Morton’s Neuroma section. I am a patient coordinator and the main point of contact for patients who want to schedule with us. I make sure they are aware of what their visit will consist of, what medications we will be prescribing, discuss the procedure with them and answer any questions or concerns they may have. We are one of the only facilities in the US that provide a non surgical option to treat Morton’s Neuroma, so I talk to patients all over the US and in Canada. When talking to people living with chronic pain and being an empath, it’s very draining. If you aren’t familiar with Morton’s Neuroma – it is a painful condition that affects the ball of your foot, most commonly the area between your third and fourth toes. Most patients describe the feeling as walking with pebbles/rocks in your shoe or like walking on crushed glass.

Our center is incredibly busy and currently almost fully booked for the rest of the year. So telling people in chronic pain that it will be 5 months before we can even see them… that’s draining. You can hear it in their voice. So I’ve been feeling that lately and its hard. So I’m doing a LOT of swatching and then a burst of posts. I think I have 15 sets of photos ready to go already… so it’s going to be a busy week.

Anyways – sorry went on a slight side journey there. But now you know what I do during the day.

Let’s take a look at this 9 piece collection that releases on Monday!

Ethereal Lacquer | Cursebreaker

Cursebreaker is a blue to purple to orangey red multichrome base full of red, gold to green iridescent flakies and tiny holographic pigments. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I did find the consistency of this polish to lean onto the thick side. If you are not partial to thicker polishes – you may need a bit of thinner to bring it down a notch.

Ethereal Lacquer | Faerie Wine

Faerie Wine is brightened red with cool berry undertones and a bright shimmer that shifts pink to peachy orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | There You Are

There You Are is a blurple jelly base with strong pink to orange shimmer and silver holographic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Thorns and All

Thorns and All is a clear base packed with pink to violet to gold to orange to green to blue iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats alone on index and pinky, and 1 coat over a black creme on middle and ring fingers.

Ethereal Lacquer | Will-O-The-Wisps

Will-O-The-Wisps is a clear base with a soft gold to green to blue to periwinkle shifting shimmer, as well as green to aqua to blue iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats on index and pinky, and 1 coat over a black creme on middle and ring.

Ethereal Lacquer | Wraithe

Wraithe is a sheer aqua jelly base with green to teal to aqua to blue to violet iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Silk Sheets

Silk Sheets is an ivory crelly base with pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Hello Feyre, Darling

Hello Feyre, Darling is a deep marine blue base loaded with green to blue shifting shimmer and silver holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Thorns & Roses Collection

My favorites from this set are Cursebreaker, Will-O-The-Wisps and There You Are. I didn’t have any real issues with application, but I did find Cursebreaker to be on the thicker side though.

Spring Court Mystery bags– 2 mystery shimmer polishes $25.00 (one of each bag per person)

Oh wow Lisa I didn’t know what you did! When people ask me what the hardest in nursing and for me is seeing people in pain. That is the worst, and you deal with it day I’m and out wow. Thanks for all the swatches (Pitkin Peach)

Not a lot know what my actual job is – and up until last July I worked in an accounting firm (for about 19 years) and it wasn’t until I moved to the Boston area that I decided I didn’t want to be in an accounting firm any longer.

I didn’t realize you were in nursing! But dealing with people in pain is incredibly difficult. But I also check in with them day after procedure as well as at the 3 month, 6 month and 1 year mark to see how they are doing – so it’s rewarding after the fact (we have about an 80% success rate)
