China Glaze On Safari Swatches and Review

I have 5 of the China Glaze On Safari swatches to show you today!  On Safari is the first Fall 2012 collection I’ve gotten my hands on and I’m always excited when new seasons near… that always means a ton more polishes to add to the ever growing collection!

Now I’ll admit, when I first saw the collection I was unsure of it, but the bottles do a lot of these colors absolutely no justice!  I had a surprise favorite in this group!  Lets get started!

Call Of The Wild:

Call of the Wild is a deep brown with a tinge of burgundy to it.  Probably my least favorite of the group, but mainly because it’s darker than I would usually wear.  Application was smooth and easy on this one, the first coat looked mildly streaky but the second coat evened it out.

Purr-fect Plum:

Purr-fect Plum is a deep berry creme color.  I thought this would be my favorite, but it surprisingly wasn’t (GASP!  I know!) .  I  did love this one, make no mistake, it just wasn’t my #1.  I used 2 coats for this mani and a glossy top coat.

Man Hunt:

Man Hunt is a vibrant medium blue creme.  I actually expected it to be darker on the nail, but was a happy that it wasn’t.  Again, 2 coats and this one was good to go.  Gorgeous blue.

Elephant Walk:

Alright, are you ready for this?  This was my favorite of the 5 I tested out.  I rarely reach for grey shades of polishes, but for some reason this one was just different for me.  Elephant Walk is a medium grey with just the slightest hint of silver shimmer.  I know this one will get the most use already.  I used 2 coats for this picture.

I’m Not Lion:

Now for the glitzy polish of the collection!  I’m Not Lion is a difficult glitter to describe… when I look at the bottle sitting on my desk it looks like a pale holographic gold, when I put it on it looked more like a silvery holo glittery with hints of gold.  Either way, I loved it.  I have 1 coat of I’m Not Lion over Elephant Walk in this photo.

Ok, I will admit that the 5 polishes I reviewed from the On Safari Collection surprised me.  I already purchased Jungle Queen so I can add that one in too.

China Glaze Nail Lacquers can be found in most major Beauty Supply stores and generally retails for $5.99 – $7.00

Will you be grabbing any colors from this collection?
