Happy Wednesday! It’s also Valentine’s Day, but Nick and I don’t really observe it because we have Christmas, New Years, Nick’s bday is January, Jacob is February 17th and I’m late March… so lots of presents and such going around this time of year – so we skip Valentine’s Day.

Anyways… today we have a new collection from Alchemy Lacquers to look at… it’s the Birds of a Feather Collection Part 2!

The Alchemy Lacquers Birds of a Feather Collection Part 2 is a 7 piece collection Friday, February 16th at 7pm EST. It’s a collection celebrating birds from all over the world!

I do have a YouTube video up for this collection so you can see application of each polish… you can check it out below:

There’s a lot of shimmer and shiftiness going on within this collection – as well as a magnetic and a thermal.

Let’s jump right in and take a look at each shade!

Alchemy Lacquers | Anna’s Hummingbird

Anna’s Hummingbird is a magenta to orange to gold to green shifting multichrome. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Brush strokes are visible in this shade but they aren’t distracting from the polish. This is super shifty.

Alchemy Lacquers | Crowned Pigeon

Crowned Pigeon is a mauve tinged taupe crelly base loaded with cyan to blue to purple shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Alchemy Lacquers | Green-breasted Mango

Green-breasted Mango is an olive green jelly base loaded with pink to orange to gold to green shifting shimmer and matching chameleon chrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

In the first 2 coats, the olive green base is visible, but as you get to the third coat – the shimmer and flakes start to really overpower it. So if you are okay with VNL and want to see more of the olive green – stop at 2 coats

Alchemy Lacquers | Hyacinth Macaw

Hyacinth Macaw is my top pick from this collection. Hyacinth Macaw is a clear based micro glitter beauty and it has blue and gold holographic micro glitters in a gold to green to blue to turquoise shifting shimmer base. I got full coverage mainly in 2 coats but did a third for just a couple little blank spots. Then I used just top coat to smooth out.

This is a microglitter polish but the micro glitters are fairly dense and aren’t too textured so a nice, thick top coat smooths it nicely. I used Monarch Lacquer High Def Shine Gel Top Coat (affiliate link)

Alchemy Lacquers | Moluccan Eclectus

Moluccan Eclectus is a thermal polish that shifts from purple (cold) to a warm toned red (warm) with red to pink to orange shifting shimmer and a scattered holographic shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Alchemy Lacquers | Spangled Cotinga

Spangled Cotinga is a dark navy jelly base with magenta to gold to green magnetic pigment, blue metallic flakes, turquoise flakes and holographic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I only magnetized the middle and ring nails so you can see it both ways.

Alchemy Lacquers | Splendid Fairy Wren

Splendid Fairy Wren is a periwinkle blue crelly base with cyan to blue to purple shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
