Zoya Fall 2012 Gloss Collection Swatches and Review
I’m back with another Fall Collection to show you! This time it’s the Zoya Fall 2012 Gloss Collection! Zoya had 3 collections released for the Fall so I will be doing this one in 3 parts! The Zoya Gloss Collection is the smaller collection of the group and consists of 3 Sheer Jelly colors! I’m a HUGE fan of Jellies and I love the colors they chose for this! Expect some jelly sandwich mani’s in the semi near future!
Now Zoya always has a special place in my heart. When my blog was spankin new (we’re talking 2 – 3 weeks old) I did a water marble using a few of their polishes I snagged during their December promos, and not only did Zoya feature it on their blog, they ALSO sent me their 2012 Spring Collection to review! So they were the first company to take a chance on me, and I’ll never forget that!
Ok onto the swatches!
Paloma:
I’m going to kick this off with my absolute FAVORITE of the group! PALOMA! This is a A sheer deep fuchsia-berry! I used 3 coats for this photo. I didn’t use a top coat, because I wanted to show off the glossy finish to it! Coat 1 gets kind of scary.. it was so sheer and streaky looking I thought these were going to be a complete ‘miss’… but on second coat I knew I was wrong. Paloma evened out, but I wanted it a little darker, so I went with coat #3. I cannot WAIT to do a glittery jelly sandwich with this one! I already have it planned out in my head!
Frida:
Frida was definitely my second favorite of the group, mainly because every jelly I own is in the pink or red family. It wasn’t until I got this that I realized I don’t have a teal jelly .. at all! Again, no top coat to show off the shine and I did 3 coats on this mani too. I think it would be a touch better with 4 coats though and I’m kicking myself now for stopping at 3.
Katherine:
Katherine was my least favorite of the group (but I still loved her). I don’t do deep vampy colors much which is the ONLY reason she came in 3rd. Katherine is a sheer, dark, red-toned aubergine. Now this one gave me a hard time just to receive. When I got my goodie blogger package – I immediately smelled polish. When I opened the box, there Katherine was – shattered and destroyed. My heart sank. Thankfully Zoya has some of the best Customer Service around (Thank you again Shelle!!) and a new bottle was in my hand not even a week later! Back to the swatch – I used 3 coats and no top coat!
That wraps up the Zoya 2012 Gloss Collection for fall! If you love jellies, you need this set!
Retail price: $8.00 Each

Independence Day Mani!
I’m a day early in posting this and I’ve shown some sneak peeks around the internet already, but here is my Independence Day Manicure as well as another group collaboration manicure! Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post and check out some other fab mani’s being done for the Fourth of July!
I decided to go with my Zoya polishes for this mani, afterall, I own 125 of them and really should break them out more often. So many stunning colors!
I used Zoya Tallulah, Zoya SnowWhite and Zoya Tamsen for this manicure as well as some nail stars I got in a Julep Box months ago. I love how crisp and clean all of the colors came out! The design I used was actually my boyfriends idea and with the help of a little striping tape I was able to get some semi crisp lines out of them!
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Fourth of July!

Zoya Beach Collection Swatches and Reviews
Summer 2012 is going to be a super stylish season for nails with the latest offering of nail polish collections, Beach and Surf, from the new color of fashion, Zoya! This new splash of color, designed by the Zoya color experts, is kissed by sea and sand translating beautifully onto the nail in the famous, full-coverage Zoya formula.
Dive into the creamy shades of the Zoya Beach Collection or the shimmering sea foils of the Zoya Surf Collection. The choice is yours – this color palette is sure to be a splash!
Ahhh Zoya… my first polish love. The polish brand that started it all for me! Back in December I got sucked in by all of Zoya’s amazing December promotions and giveaways and walked away with over 70 polishes (but we won’t discuss how much that actually cost me…). I patiently await each and every collection Zoya releases, so when I saw their Summer 2012 Collection was coming soon – I counted down the days until it would be MINE!
On Friday, my package from Zoya’s PR team arrived – but sadly, I had to work all day Saturday so the swatches had to wait until today! Because 12 polishes are involved I split them up into 2 posts. This is the Beach Collection Post! Surf Collection will be posted tomorrow!
Here come the swatches!
Reagan - deep cerise pink cream – the formula for Reagan was perfect. Smooth, spread easily and dry time was fast! Dried a little darker than what you see in the bottle, but I still loved the color.
Lara - vivid cerise pink cream – Lara was probably my absolute favorite of the 3 pink tones in the Beach collection! Formula was easy to work with and a gorgeous vivid summery pink.
Shelby - soft pinky pink cream – Shelby is a gorgeous slightly blue toned, soft pink. Again, no issues with the formula, but I did use 3 coats in for this photo to get completely full coverage. Well worth the wait of 3 coats though!
Arizona - soft coral orange cream – Arizona is unlike any orange I own (probably because I don’t own many…) but it is lovely. Only issue – the formula. It was slightly runny for me, but it wasn’t pooling up in my cuticles. I would put a coat on and as it dried it seemed to be drawing away from the center of my nails… really odd? Bad bottle maybe? Not sure. I used 3 coats to even it out. The photo came out brighter than it is in person, it really isn’t this neonish in real life!
Tracie - sea grass metallic – Tracie is the spring green I needed! The slight shimmer in Tracie really just made it pop for me! No formula issues with this beauty at all!
Wednesday - soft aqua cream – This was my favorite of the Beach collection, which surprised me. It is a more of a muted color, but still pulls off a spring like color look. I have plenty of BRIGHT aqua cream colors from other companies recently released, so having a toned down aqua is a bit of a relief.
I will be reviewing the other half of Zoya’s Summer Collection (Surf) shortly. So keep an eye out!

I decided to make a separate post for the possible dupes I made reference to for the OPI Holland Collection. Now if you are like me, you will want the possible dupes anyway – but for those that don’t want dupes or would rather buy something else, this post will hopefully be helpful to you! I can only base this off of colors I have in my current arsenal. I didn’t bother much with clean-up on this either since it was purely for dupe purposes.
First possible dupe group is OPI A Roll in the Hague vs Essie Orange, It’s Obvious! OPI A Roll in the Hague is just a hair redder than Essie, but they are fairly close!
Second possible dupe group is OPI Dutch ‘Ya Just Love OPI? vs Zoya Tru. The color is almost a dupe. In the bottle they look almost dead on, but when both dry down Zoya Tru has more obvious shimmer (by just a bit) and dries a couple shades brighter than OPI.
Next up is OPI Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh? vs Zoya Farah. The battle of the putty colors. They are very close… OPI seems to have a little more grey to it, but it’s so close I would label these dupes.
Last of my dupes are OPI Red Lights Ahead… Where? vs Essie Ole Caliente. This one is a CLOSE dupe. Both have the same vibrant orangey red.
There you have it. All of these colors were released between January 2012 and mid February 2012.
