China Glaze Surprise Collection Swatches and Review Part One

Press Sample

It’s a China Glaze kind of day!

Surprise Collage

Today I have 3 of the 6 new China Glaze Surprise glitter top coats to show you!  All 3 are a great mixture of matte and metallic hexes in a clear base.  I do have to say, all 3 of these seem to be unique colors mixed so I don’t have any dupes in my personal collection (big plus!)

Shine on with pops of colour and glitters galore. The six-piece, limited edition China Glaze® Surprise collection is the life of the party where you can confidently let the pieces “fall where they may” for the ultimate manicure. The chunky glitters bring together large matte and shiny particles in feminine, flirty and funky color combinations. Wear alone or as a top coat for an extra effect that’s uniquely you.

Let’s take a look!

Glitter Up

Glitter Up is a mix of purple metallic hex glitters with matte turquoise and peach hex glitters.  I used 1 coat over China Glaze What A Pansy.

Glimmer More

Glimmer More

While people may not feel this is a good color combination, I don’t care.  I love it for some reason.  Glimmer More is a mix of pink metallic hex glitter with orange and yellow matte hex glitters.  I used 1 coat over China Glaze At Vase Value.

Glimmer More Side

Overview

If you like glitter and slightly funky color combos, this is a great set for you!  I have already purchased the remaining 3, so I will post those up when they come in!  The clear base was a little thicker so for some of the larger matte hex glitters I did need to dab them on a little.  The smaller metallic hexes seemed to apply without issue though.  Worth the work?  It is for me.  All 3 glitters also work great with the 6 shades I received from the China Glaze City Flourish collection

China Glaze City Flourish Collection For Spring 2014 Swatches & Review Part One

Press Sample

Today I have some fun Spring shades to share with you from the China Glaze City Flourish collection!  I usually put full collections in one post, but since I received this set of 6 from China Glaze to review, I loved the shades and ordered the remaining 6.  Once those are in, I will post those up as well!

City Flourish collage

China Glaze City Flourish is made up of a mix of vibrant pastels and hot neon shades.  Even the pastels have a nice, hot pop to them!

Take a look!

At Vase Value

At Vase Value

At Vase Value is a bright baby blue creme.  I needed 3 coats for this photo as the first 2 coats were streaky and typical pastel formula.  I adore this color, so 3 coats was definitely worth it to me.  At Vase Value will get worn by me a lot this season!

At Vase Value side

Grass Is Lime Greener

Grass Is Lime Greener

Grass Is Lime Greener is an odd one for me to describe.  It is a neon pastel creme. It has the typical pastel streaky formula on the first 2 coats, but nice and even on the third coat.  Again, I love the color so I would continue to use it despite needing 3 coats.

Grass Is Lime Greener Side

Metro Pollen-tin

Metro Pollen tin

Metro Pollen-tin is a neon peach creme.  I used 3 thin coats for this photo.  The first coat was slightly streaky, the second one evened it out, but I did need a third coat for complete coverage.  The color is pretty but didn’t agree with my skin tone.  Definitely a possible nail art shade for me.

Metro Pollen tin side

Lotus Begin

Lotus Begin

Lotus Begin is a neon lavender creme.  I used 3 thin coats for this photo as well.  Again, first 2 coats on the streaky side, but the third coat was even.  Another gorgeous shade I’ll wear this season (it’s purple… and you know me with purple).

Lotus Begin Side

What A Pansy

What A Pansy

What A Pansy is a purple toned medium periwinkle creme.  The best formula of the 6 I received and only needed 2 coats.

What A Pansy side

Peonies & Park Ave

Peonies and Park Ave

Peonies & Park Ave is a color that flipped my camera out completely.  This is a neon pink creme.  I had some issues with it not wanting to level out, but aside from that, it’s a gorgeous shade.  I used 3 thin coats for this photo.

Peonies and Park Ave side

 Overview

As you saw from my descriptions, 5 of the 6 shades needed 3 coats for complete coverage without streaks.  I’m a patient person, so it’s not an issue for me.  The colors are worth it and only 1 of the 6 didn’t work for me (color preference and skin tone clashing).  As I stated way at the top, I’ve already ordered the remaining 6 for this collection because I do love the neon and bright pastel shades in it.  It’s really up to you to decide if 3 coats are worth it for you.  This collection screams Spring for me though and I’m loving it!

OPI Sheer Tints Swatches, Review and A Little Nail Art

Press SampleAffiliate Link

When I first heard about OPI Sheer Tints I was incredibly curious about them!  I finally got my hands on them, so I’m going to show you them on their own and then in some attempted nail art.

Lets take a look at the colors on their own

I’m Never Amberrassed

I'm Never Amberrassed

I’m going to kick this off with the one I feel shouldn’t be worn on it’s own.  I’m Never Amberrassed is a sheer amber tint.  You can pretty much see that it is sheer and glossy, but it looks like I have serious nail staining.  I will show it to you over white later in the post though.  This is 2 coats on its own.

Be Magentale With Me

Be Magentale With Me is a sheer wash of magenta.  I used 2 coats on its own.  This would make a decent base for a classic french manicure.

Over White

Over White

Here are all 4 shades over white.  These can be used over a variety of base colors to tint the base.  I used 2 coats of each Sheer Tint over OPI Alpine Snow.

Watercolor Nail Art

Sheer Tints

I attempted some nail art.  This is kind of a watercolor mix of the sheers over OPI Alpine Snow.  I used randomly added swipes of each sheer tint color over Alpine Snow.

Sheer Tints 2

Overview

I definitely like these over white.  There are different possibilities on how to use them (I did watercolor look because my nail art is very limited).  They are glossy on their own and dry within about 6-8 minutes.  The consistency was similar to a fast dry top coat once you get to close to the middle of the bottle.  It was a little stringy – but still workable.  I was a little scared when I saw them on their own, but layered they are decent.  They are incredibly glossy on their own and don’t require a glossy top coat.

Price: $9.00

Where To Buy: You can find Sheer Tints at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and Amazon

Release Date:  March 2014

Pure Luxe Vitamin C Serum Skin Care Review

Press Sample

See The Anti Aging Power Of Vitamin C + E + Hyaluronic Acid & Instantly Gain Brighter More Radiant Beautiful Skin Upon Application with our Professional Anti-Aging Serum.  Pure Luxe Facial Serum Contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Suspended in a Concentrated base of Pure Vegan Hyaluronic Acid For Superior Anti Aging Effects.

Vitamin C Bottle

I recently reviewed Pure Luxe Vitamin C Serum.  Vitamin C Serum has a few benefits for your skin:

-  Vitamin C helps smooth and firm skin and fade brown spots by inhibiting the free radicals that trigger wrinkling, sagging, and other aging changes. Apply Vitamin C in the morning,  to protect your skin from free radicals caused by sun damage.

- With bounds of studies singing its praise, Vitamin E is a skincare superstar. The vitamin has been proven to ease dryness and boosts skin’s UV defense.

- Hyaluronic acid, or sodium hyaluronate as it’s also known, has become a serious skincare staple. It’s the body’s own hydrating molecule, able to absorb up to 1000 times its own weight in water and responsible for keeping our skin plump, smooth and supple. Sadly, our natural levels deplete as we age, so fight off fine lines and a loss of skin tone with our latest Vitamin C Serum.

Vitamin C Dropper

Pure Luxe Vitamin C Serum comes in a small glass bottle with a dropper style dispenser.  It only requires a few drops to cover your entire face.  After using it for a few weeks I am noticing my skin seems smoother and I haven’t needed as much moisturizer in the morning.  It also works amazingly well on hands, cuticles and nails!

I apply Pure Luxe Vitamin C Serum at night and in the morning ( a VERY thin layer) and I will continue to do so!  I’m definitely feeling a difference in my skin, but I can’t see a huge difference yet.  I will do a follow up review once I’ve been using the Vitamin C Serum for a longer period of time.  While this bottle is only 1oz, I only need a few drops each use, so it will last a good while.

Price: $29.95

Where To Buy: Amazon

Have you ever tried Vitamin C Serum for skin care?  I’m just starting to get into it, and I’m definitely liking it!  Hopefully the results continue!
