I’m always looking for fun and new ideas as gifts, or even as an add on to a larger gift. I was given the opportunity to receive a Name A Star Personalized Gift, and I thought it was a nice and unique idea.
What is Name A Star? It’s an opportunity to name a star (I’m sure you figured that out…) and you receive a certificate with the name you chose, the co-ordinates to locate the star AND instructions on how to view the star with Google Earth… where the recipient of the gift (or yourself) will see a personalized message left by you!
Here is what the certificate I received looks like. I had a star named after my son (his last name is on the certificate, but I took it out for this post) and I received this around his birthday… so when we view the star on Google Earth – it says “Happy 8th Birthday Jacob!”
When I showed Jacob the certificate and the message, he LOVED it! A few of the moms at his birthday party wanted information for their kids and friends as well.
It’s only $12.99 for this, which isn’t too bad and it’s a fun gift idea – especially for an 8 year old who is getting to space related things. He thought having a star named after him was awesome!
For $12.99 you get:
A Star Certificate in the name of your choice
View your star on Google Earth
Leave a personalized message
Entry into the star registry
Instructions on how to view your star
And you’ll receive it within 48 hours of purchase
Sound like something you’d be interested in? Check out the Name A Star Website.
Want to win the opportunity to Name A Star? Enter below! 3 Winners will be selected.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I told you I would have more Mentality Nail Polish to show you this week, and I wasn’t kidding! Today I have the Mentality Glass Fleck Jellies to show you.
This is a set of 9 vibrantly colored jelly bases jam packed with gorgeous silver glass flecks for a slightly textured, shimmery glow. There are only 8 in this post right now… but I will have the 9th one up shortly.
Nichole is a jelly base packed with silver glass flecks. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Whitney is a soft green jelly base with a ton of silver glass flecks throughout. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Charlotte is an aqua jelly base with silver glass flecks throughout. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Theia is a vibrant blue jelly with silver glass flecks throughout. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Anne is a blue toned purple jelly with silver glass flecks. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Alysha is a bright red toned pink full of silver glass flecks. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Destany is a soft pink toned orange jelly base with silver glass flecks mixed in. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Jeanette is a light coral jelly base with tons of silver glass flecks within it. I used 2 coats for this photo.
The opacity and easy application of these glass fleck bombs was a lot easier than I thought it would be. These aren’t a super “squishy” looking set of jellies, but they are definitely jelly finish. They all have a very light texture to them and dazzle in the sunlight. This set is definitely unique to my collection.

Have you checked out the Color4Nails website before? They carry a nice assortment of indie polishes from around the world and make it easy to order some of your favorites in one spot!
One amazing brand Color4Nails carries is JOSS Lacquer. I have used JOSS Lacquer before, so I knew I loved the brand. They have amazing holographic shades in both scattered as well as linear that apply amazingly well.
The first 2 shades I’ll be showing you tonight are not yet carried on the Color4Nails website – so if you like them, make sure you let Color4Nails know (either on her Facebook Page or in the comments below!) so she can make the decision on carrying them or not.
Desert Sun is a medium bronze jelly base with scattered holo throughout. This is a slightly textured polish that can be smoothed out in 2 coats of top coat. Look at the holo sparkle in it! I didn’t even need a lamp to show it off. I used 2 coats for this photo and 1 coat of top coat
In A Violet Haze
In A Violet Haze is a silvery white with a violet shimmer and holographic micro glitter scattered throughout. I used 2 coats for this. Like Desert Sunset, this has a mild texture and needs 2 coats of top coat to smooth over. Also like Desert Sunset – the holographic glittered needed no help sparkling through!
Now we’re going to move onto shades that Color4Nails currently has in stock! Again, if you like the 2 above and want to see more of them and colors like them – let her know!
Sudden Impulse is a reddish coral linear holographic polish with a jelly like finish. Although it’s jelly like, Sudden Impulse is completely opaque in just 2 coats.
Caribbean Holiday is a STUNNING vibrant aqua blue linear holographic. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Alternate Dimension is a orangey coral jelly linear holographic. Much like Sudden Impulse, this had GREAT opacity and I had full coverage in 2 coats.
Flamingo Dancer is my #1 of the group. This is a beautiful, rich rose pink metallic finish linear holographic. The finish on it is completely like a standard metallic. You need to make sure the first coat is dry before you apply the second or you may have slight dragging of the first coat. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Flash Diamond is a metallic silver linear holographic polish. I used 2 coats for this photo, and like Flamingo Dancer – make sure the first coat is dry before applying the second to avoid dragging.
All of the JOSS FX Affinite shades have an amazing holographic quality to them regardless of whether they are linear or scattered. I love the range of finishes on them as well, they go from lightly textured to jelly to metallic – yet no matter what the finish they are amazing.
Price: $9.00 each
Where To Buy: Color4Nails Website
At the moment Color4Nails does not have Desert Sun or In A Violet Haze in stock, but if you want to have them available, remember to comment to this post or leave her a quick message on Facebook to let her know YOU WANT THEM!
Make sure to visit Color4Nails on Facebook for more swatches, reviews and stocking information for the amazing assortment of polishes she stocks!
What did you think? Are you LOVING the JOSS FX Affinite Holographics?

Milani has released another Limited Edition Coming Up Roses powder blush collection. Last years 4 piece limited edition collection sold out super fast, so I was excited to see they did another set, but this time they went bold and bright with the colors.
I remember loving the Coming Up Roses set Milani released last year and had very high hopes for this years collection, unfortunately, I wasn’t completely impressed with them. Overall, I love Milani as a brand and have very few, if any issues with their products – but these blushes didn’t impress me like the last collection did.
All 4 powder blushes are described as petal soft, finely milled and rose colored pigments (to go with the theme).
Let’s take a look.
Coral Cove is a matte bright orange coral. The color? Gorgeous. The application? Slightly chalky. It was workable, but I had to apply it with a light hand, and then use a fluffy powder brush to swipe over the application area to dust off excess.
Lady Rouge is a hot pink toned red matte shade. This one was different from the other 3 blushes. It was harder to work with and I could barely get any color with it. Instead of feeling powdery to the touch, it actually felt harder than usual. Bad batch? I don’t know. It was definitely not in line with the other blushes.
Love Potion is a deep rose matte blush. This one actually gave me the best pigmentation for the least amount of work. It blended easier and had the finely milled feeling I remember the last collection having.
Tea Rose is probably the “safest” blush in the collection. This is a light rose matte shade. Pigmentation is decent, but still a little on the chalky side.
While I generally love the products Milani puts out, and I really loved last years Coming Up Roses Limited Edition collection, this one didn’t seem to be as good as the original 4 piece set. The colors were nice and they are usable – but you need to be careful while applying. If you have dryer skin, be careful with it. Matte shades tend to cling to dry spots and can accentuate the dryness. Do I like this years Coming Up Roses collection? Yes. Do I love it? No. The packaging and presentation is beautiful and I love the rose pattern. Almost to pretty to use!
Availability: You can find these in select Walgreens stores as well as on the Milani Website
So what do you think? Will you be picking these up?
