The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box

Press Sample of The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box

5 indie makers have come together to create The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box. What is it? It’s a mix of 5 shades with funny names  that’s aren’t the typical ‘love’ theme that everyone is so accustomed to when Valentine’s Day rolls around!

The makers involved in this box are: Cupcake Polish, Turtle Tootsie Polishes, 77 Nail Lacquer, Glisten & Glow and Bear Pawlish. We’re gonna jump right into the shades and at the bottom of the post will be all purchasing information!

77 Nail Lacquer – I Love You, NOT!

77 Nail Lacquer I Love You, NOT! is a squishy red jelly base with iridescent and holographic micro glitters mixed in. This is a beautiful shade and I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

And last up we have Turtle Tootsie Polish It’s Not Me, It’s You! This is a medium pink toned purple linear holographic with small iridescent flecks mixed in to spark off a little more color. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box Overview

The Un-Valentine Collaboration Box Overview

So first off – I love the names and theme of the box. While my boyfriend and I have been together for over 6 years now, we don’t do a whole lot for Valentine’s Day. Not because we are ho-hum about it, but because we have Christmas in December, Nick’s birthday in January, Jacob is in February and I’m in March – so we’d rather make the birthday’s grand and kind of ignore Valentine’s Day. We acknowledge it and spend time together and all that – but do we really need more stuffed animals and such in the house? Not really. We already have trouble buying gifts for birthdays and such (we both kinda impulse buy when we see something we want) so throwing another gift in the mix – just nah.

Well, I babbled a bit.

The polishes in here are nicely done and I do enjoy them. The mix of color is really nicely done and all have the holo aspect in there, but in different ways which is always nice. I’m fairly familiar with 4 of the 5 brands – but surprisingly, this is my first experience with Bear Pawlish! I’ve heard great things, but hadn’t taken the plunge just yet – and I’ll have to do so. I know there were some pink holos in their shop I was eyeing before.

Application on all 5 was nice and I had no issues to report.

Oh and did I mention there will be a surprise chocolate in the box as well? Cause – regardless of celebrating Valentine’s Day or not… chocolate is always welcome!

Heheh I like the theme (similar to you we don’t really “do” V-day etc, admittedly Halloween thru Easter is one candy season after another for his sweet tooth!). The first two or three polishes pictures are eye catching!

I can’t believe this is your first Bear! That is the one I want the most, and thankfully I found someone to split the box with me. They’re all gorgeous, but the wallet is saying NO!

I really am digging the Turtle Tootsie polish for this box. My husband and I don’t do anything either for Valentines Day, our anniversary is the 1st of February so we usually do something then instead.

Wait. WAIT. We are talking Valentine’s Day already :D? Such fabulous colors though, and I love the “anti” theme :). The names are so fun!

Since having kids, we definitely ignore V-day a bit too. Once you pass that first decade of marriage, some holidays slip away.

At least your nails will be fab.

This is definitely one of those rare boxes where I love every single one of the shades! Such perfection!
