It’s been a really long day today that just seemed to drag by. Traffic out here has been a nightmare, so it’s taking well over an hour to get to and from work daily now.  I’m home now, my son’s homework is completed and double checked, and I’m all set to show you the Savannah Lacquer Dress Me Up 90s Collection!

This is my first full review involving Savannah Lacquer! I had my first experience with her brand with the Shimmer Me Box for September, and I really loved the polish she created for it. Guess what? That perfect formula wasn’t a fluke! All 6 of these shades in the Dress Me Up 90s Collection are just as good.

Most of my “growing up” days took place in the 90’s, so all of these brought back memories. I was 9 in 1990 and I was a Junior in High School in 1999 – so all of these names are of things I owned at one point or another while I was “finding myself”… some I owned an embarrassing number of.

Let’s take a gander at this lineup! These release tomorrow, September 15th – so be ready!

Flannel Shirts

I will admit that I owned an epic crapload of flannel shirts in the 90’s. I used them much like I use cardigans now. It was just “the thing” when I was in junior high and high school. I had a number of bodysuits (shut up) and I wore the flannels over them, unbuttoned and I felt like I rocked them.

I most likely didn’t.

Flannel Shirts is a medium taupe base with strong red shimmer and a scattered holographic effect. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Combat Boots

I only owned 1 pair of combat boots and I seriously wore them once and felt like I clunked around and walked like Frankenstein so after begging my mom to buy them for me… I wore them ONCE. Sorry mom.

Combat Boots is a deep grey scattered holographic laced with silver shimmer. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Frayed Jeans

Okay seriously, I am 5’2″ – all of my jeans in junior high and high school were too long for me and frayed naturally. Usually in the back where they fell under my shoes when I walked. Then I leaned the nifty pin trick and basically tacked them to the soles of my shoes so they looked kinda baggy and didn’t fray. Then they were “in” and I just cut the excess length off and threw em in the dryer.

Frayed Jeans is a bright blue blue scattered holographic with green shimmer to my eyes, but the description says it’s a teal with golden shimmer. My eyes might be getting old, so I put both my interpretation of the polish and the given description (since the maker knows what she put in it) I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tights Under My Shorts

Okay I lied initially, this was actually a trend I never did, mainly because I never wore shorts. Seriously I still don’t because I loathe shorts on me. I’m a vertically challenged person with chubby thighs. Even when I was younger and barely weighed 100 lbs… I had chubby thighs. Shorts were not my friend and I preferred it if my thighs didn’t rub together. I owned tights, but they were only worn under my dresses for church.

Tights Under My Shorts is a cool toned medium purple scattered holographic with blue shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Slip Dress

Slip dresses! I owned several of these and never wore them! Sorry again mom! I thought they were SO CUTE but always opted for my frayed jeans and flannels instead.

Slip Dress is a medium dusty pink orchid crelly scattered holographic with blue to purple to red to orange shifting shimmer flecks added. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat or these photos.

Birkenstocks

Birkenstocks. Wow. Okay so I was born and raised in Northern California right outside of Berkeley. I am 99.9% certain you aren’t allowed to be a resident out here if you don’t own Birkenstocks. That residency requirement is still in place.

Birkenstocks is a brown jelly crelly based scattered holographic with gold to green to blue shimmer flecks added. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Savannah Lacquer Dress Me Up 90s Collection Overview

This collection was a blast from the past. Some of which I wish would stay there.  The polishes are a welcome addition into my home though. I had no application issues with any of the 6 shades.
