Time sure is flying by… it’s already time for the Little Box of Horrors March 2022 Witches & Warlocks! I swear we just did the January shop.

My oldest sister was obsessed with Witches and Warlocks when I was younger, so I got used to watching the movies and such. I remember watching various witch movies (Witches of Eastwick, The Witches, Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic, The Craft, etc) but I really remember the Warlock movies (it’s been awhile, but I do remember those) So when I saw the theme announced, I was excited because my sister and I didn’t get along much – but when it came to our movie marathons… we got along for those moments.

Okay so a little about Little Box of Horrors… This will be a bi-monthly collaboration shop that will consist of 25-35 makers. Each bi-monthly shop will have either a horror, sci-fi, thriller, supernatural, paranormal, or mystery like theme – and the products will then be inspired by that theme.

The shop opens on the 18th and will remain open until the 30th, so you have a decently long shopping window.

Apipila | Hocus Pocus Stamping Plate

Inspiration: Witches

Description: Apipila is back with a 4 x 6″ stainless steel stamping plate with a variety of witch or witch related images on it. Once again the etching was nicely done and I had no issue picking up the images I wanted.

Price: $14.00 | Cap: 300

Baroness X | Fixer Elixir in Violet Magic

Inspiration: Inspired by the magic of my grandma Violet.

Description: Fixer Elixir is a product from the Baroness X shop that I love. I think Demi gifted me a sample at one point and I was hooked. I have a few jars I’ve polished off.

Fixir Elixir is a cuticle cream that contains argan oil, aloe vera juice, rosehip seed oil, kelp extract, neem extract, lanolin, jojoba oil, rosemary extract, and allantoin. I use it throughout the day and I actually use it as a hand cream rather than cuticle cream and it’s non greasy, so I can use it at work without issue.

The cream is light but has a good thickness to it. It soaks in quickly without leaving a film feeling on your skin and leaves my hands feeling soft and hydrated.

The March scent is Violet Magic (which can be compared to LUSH Kerbside Violet) and it’s a  floral, woody scent starts with ylang ylang, rosewood, jasmine with a powdery touch and finishes off with a tart violet – it reminds many of the scent of a “concrete jungle” just after a good rain. The violet is stronger with this one and I always forget how much I love the scent of violets. I’m so used to products being rose, jasmine, etc but violet isn’t as common. It’s not rare – just not super common.

This comes in a purple glass jar and has an inner seal liner that you can place back on after use.

Price: $11.00 for 2oz Jar | Cap: None

Baroness X | Violet Magic (Magnetic)

Inspiration: Inspired by the magic of my grandma Violet.

Description: Violet Magic is a warm grape purple jelly base loaded with bronze magnetic pigment, as well as purple and gold metallic flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I used a round magnet on the middle and ring nails and left the index and pinky alone so you can see it both ways.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: None

Blackbird Dips | Cuticle Oil

Inspiration: Melisandre from Game of Thrones

Description: Blackbird Dips brings us Melisandre inspired cuticle oil that is a scent blend of bewitching mix of apple, lemon, crystallized ginger, fig, caramel, cinnamon, coffee, spiced amber, twigs, and forest.

This is an intriguing scent and has a nice, warm feel – like spiced apple cider but with more of an earthy feel to it. I definitely get the apple and cinnamon, but also the earthy forest scent. I don’t have anything like it and I kinda want it in a body mist now… or a lotion.

This isn’t a heavy oil and is good for repeated application through the day. It soaks in nice and the metal rollerball allows for only a little at a time to be applied so it doesn’t over saturate your cuticles. This is a 10ml rollerball applicator.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: 40

Blackbird Dips | The Red Witch Dip Powder

Inspiration: Melisandre from Game of Thrones

Description: “The night is dark and full of terrors”.

The Red Witch is a berry purple base with red foil particles mixed in. This listing is only for the powder, but you will need dip liquids to use it. I personally bought this set on Amazon (affiliate link) and it works well.

For dip nails, prep the nail (isopropyl alcohol or prep liquid) and let dry, then you apply a coat of the base liquid, then dip your nail into the powder and hold a few seconds, bring your nail out and tap excess off. I wait another minute then use a fluffy powder brush and dust away extra powder. Then I repeat that process 2 more times (so 3x total) and then I apply activator liquid. Once that sets (2 minutes) I shape and smooth the dip powder. Once done, I apply another layer of Activator liquid, wait about 2 minutes and then wash my hands with water only. Then I do 2 coats of top coat and let fully dry (about 3-5 minutes) and I’m done!

It’s fairly easy to do and it works well. The color on the nail is usually darker than what you see in the jar, so be aware of that when buying any dip color.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: 50

Fanchromatic Nails | No Peopling Allowed

Inspiration: Inspired by the underwater scenes from the classic movie Bed-Knobs & Broomsticks, one of my favorite childhood films!

Description: No Peopling Allowed is an ocean blue jelly base with scattered slightly subtle scattered and linear holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Galatea | Midnight Margaritas Hydrating Body Butter

Inspiration: Inspired by the fantastic “midnight margaritas” scene in the witchy movie Practical Magic!

Description: Galatea’s Body Butter is a nice, thick cream that moisturizing and isn’t oily. It also won’t melt on a hot day, which is good. With Winter wrecking my skin, I’ve actually been slathering this on my feet and throwing thick cotton socks on and my feet have been baby soft! I use it on my hands a lot too, but I will need a backup of this one cause the scent is also amazing.

The March scent is Midnight Margaritas and it’s described as a scintillating blend of sweet key lime, orange peel, ginger juice, fresh mint sprigs & a generously salted rim. I definitely smell all of these, but it’s a more mature scent. It’s not as upfront fruity as you’d think but the mint and ginger and salt mellow the citrus out.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: 36

Inspiration: Inspired by Myrtle Snow’s iconic huge red hair.

Description: This shampoo bar/body wash is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint! It has less waste than your traditional liquid shampoos in plastic bottles. It is sulfate free, so it is safe for dyed hair.

I’ve loved shampoo bars since around 2009 when I first started using LUSH shampoo bars. They take up less space in the shower, cleans my hair without all the extra hubbub and the scent holds in my hair longer than traditional shampoos.

Scent notes: Lemongrass, woody, clove, citrus, lavender, light musk

My nose picks up the lemongrass and lavender the most and it’s an oddly soothing scent for me.

Instructions: massage the bar into wet hair or into a wet loofah (for body washing) to work up a rich lather. Allow to dry completely between uses to extend the life of this bar.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: 45

Resting Witch Face – The enchanting aroma of a red juicy apple combined with buttercream and cinnamon with a base note of a baked oatmeal cookie.

To my nose, this smells like apple cinnamon oatmeal with extra apple thrown in. I am not a fan of eating oatmeal (texture is blah to me) but I LOVE the smell.
