Halloween Cursed Box

Press Samples for the Halloween Cursed Box

It’s time for some Halloween goodness to start rolling out and tonight (this morning?) I have the Halloween Cursed Box to share!

The Halloween Cursed Box is a collaboration box hosted by Necessary Evil Polish. For the 2020 box, Necessary Evil Polish is joined by Great Lakes Lacquer, Baroness X, Fanchromatic, Heathers Hues, Zombie Claw, and LynBDesigns.

While this is the Halloween Cursed BOX – you do have the option of buying this as a box or purchasing individual polishes and wax. There is also a shea butter cold process soap that will be available, but only 10 are available so swatchers don’t have it and it will not be part of the full box. It will be available individually only.

The Halloween Cursed Box will go on sale from September 1st through September 15th. All pricing information will be available at the end of this post.

Each polish is inspired/named for a different horror film. I won’t lie, I’m a chicken and barely watch horror films… however – I have seen all of the ones named in this post.

Let’s get this started!

Baroness X | Redrum

Redrum is a black jelly based linear holographic loaded with red metallic microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Redrum is inspired by The Shining.

Fanchromatic Nails | The Grudge

The Grudge is a slightly rusty blood red crelly with green to blue to purple shifting shimmer, as well as iridescent color shifting flakes that flash purple, blue, pink and orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Grudge is inspired by… The Grudge.

Great Lakes Lacquer | True Sorrow Is As Rare As True Love

True Sorrow Is As Rare As True Love is a purple based multichrome and it shifts from magenta to red to orange to gold. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

True Sorrow Is As Rare As True Love is inspired by Carrie.

Heather’s Hues | Camp Crystal Lake

Camp Crystal Lake is a pale silvery white linear holographic base with strong red to pink to orange to gold shifting shimmer, matching flakes, as well as multichrome flakes that shift violet to pink to gold to green, and pink to blue to violet. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Camp Crystal Lake is inspired by Friday The 13th.

LynBDesigns | When People Get Desperate, The Knives Come Out (Thermal)

When People Get Desperate, The Knives Come Out is a thermal that shifts from a deep plum (cold) to clear (warm) with red to green to gold shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes, as well as small silver holo flecks. The clear state of this is truly clear when warm, so it would be perfect for “peek-a-boo” stamping as well as a topper over another shade to make your own thermal combo.

When People Get Desperate, The Knives Come Out is inspired by Knives Out.

Okay I lied, I never saw this one.

Necessary Evil Polish | Creep It Real

Creep It real is a slightly dusty orchid purple crelly with black, orange, green and holo glitters in a variety of shapes and sizes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Creep It Real is inspired by Halloween.

Zombie Claw Polish | Do You Like Scary Movies?

Do You Like Scary Movies? is a bright magenta leaning pink crelly with scattered holo, black shards, iridescent hex glitters, baby pink dot glitters and black holo glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Do You Like Scary Movies? is inspired by Scream.

Necessary Evil Polish | Pumpkin Spice Twists Wax Melt

Pumpkin Spice Twists Wax Melt is a cute ghosty shaped wax that smells like warm pumpkin pie. You get notes of nutmeg, cloves, ginger and cinnamon, as well as a hint of vanilla and brown sugar. It’s sweet and reminds you of Fall!

Halloween Cursed Box

I’m not sure how many of these there have been, but this is my third year reviewing the Halloween Cursed Box. In 2018 there were only 4 makers…. in 2019 there were 5.. and this year we have 7 makers involved. It’s fun to see the box grow, and I kind of get to see my own blog grow with it.

I do love the variety and although the theme is horror movies, there are a mix of deeper shades and some brighter shades mixed in.

I had no application issues with any of the shades, and the wax melt smelled amazing.

You can grab each item individually, or as a full set for a little discount. Within each box you will also receive a light up jelly ring and some Halloween candy.

Price: $63.00 Full Box | $10.00 Each Polish Individually | $8.50 for 6oz Wax Melt | $6.50 for Poison Apple Cold Process Soap (not shown)

Where To Buy: Halloween Cursed Box Shop

Pre-order Dates: September 1st – September 15th

So what do you think? Will you be grabbing this box, or any of the items individually?

I bought this one on Amazon (https://amzn.to/32ADHY8) but I’ve been told Dollar General (I think?) has them.

Knives Out isn’t really a horror movie, it’s a murder mystery. It’s absolutely wonderful! It has an all-star cast, is extremely well-written, and will keep you guessing to the very end! I haven’t enjoyed a mystery movie this much in a long time. I really recommend you see it! There’s nothing gory or sensitive either, so I think it’s safe for anyone 15+.
