Happy Monday! This weekend went by quick… but once again I got a lot done and that includes the Fandom Flakies Box for October 2022… and the theme is The Umbrella Academy!
I was so excited to see the theme for this month! I love The Umbrella Academy and Klaus is my favorite in the series.
We have no guest maker this month, so it’s a 2 polish month and pricing will be a bit different than usual. Basically, a quick run down… The box will be $22.00 + shipping (for polishes only) this month instead of $33.00 plus shipping. If you have a subscription to Fandom Flakies Box – the price will also be adjusted for your sub this month. If you do the version of the box that has a Ribbits Stickits extra, the extra this month will be the decals for $32.00 + shipping total.
So basically Fandom Flakies Box has 2 constant makers – Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer. Ribbits Stickits is also a familiar face to the box – bringing fun add ons to the box to really bring the theme to life. Usually there is a guest maker, but this month we have just the hosts.
Themes for the Fandom Flakies Box range from video games to tv shows to movies. Sometimes others – but those are the most common. Basically anything with a possible “fandom” is fair game in this box.
Every month when the shop opens there are 40 Ready To Ship boxes made. Usually it will be said as “RTS” and that’s what that means. They are ready to go.
There is a flat rate (as mentioned above) but if you want to purchase addons for your subscription (hand and cuticle cream, decals, acetone additive, etc) you can for an additional cost. Want only the Ribbits Stickits addons? That’s perfectly fine – you can buy those alone as well.
Once the 40 RTS boxes are gone – they essentially go into preorder. The preordered boxes will ship between 2-4 weeks after the shop closes. They do aim for sooner but as we all know – USPS has a mind of its own and it’s just not always possible.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | I Know This Is Impossible, But Did We Get Sexier?
I Know This Is Impossible, But Did We Get Sexier? is a is a medium mint green jelly base loaded with orange to gold to green iridescent flakes and silver holographic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Sexy Trash
Sexy Trash is a teal jelly base packed with pink to orange to gold to green large particle shimmer, as well as black metallic flakes and silver holographic microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade takes on a strong glowy green shift when the light hits at an angle, but in person it has more of the initial blue peaking through.
Ribbits Stickits | Un-frog-gettable Hand & Cuticle Cream
This hand and cuticle cream is thick enough so it can be used every day in small amounts, or slather it on at night for a more intensive treatment.
The October scent is Griddy’s Doughnuts, which is a delicious mouthwatering sweet jelly donut with a hint of raspberry.
This isn’t as sweet as one would expect – but it has the amazing gourmet donut like scent and the raspberry is there but not a super strong component. It’s sweet without being headache (or toothache) inducing

Ribbits Stickits | Water Slide Decals
The October’s box brings 2 sheets of The Umbrella Academy themed water slide decals!
These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.
Decals are an add on for $10.00

Another great month and I need to snag the Acetone Additive in this scent! It’s delicious. Both polishes applied beautifully and despite the flakey packed goodness – both were smooth with just 1 coat of BKL Quick Dry Top Coat.
I also did an Instagram video to show application of both polishes, as well as how I apply decals and the consistency of the hand & cuticle cream.
