March 2021 | What We Do In The Shadows

Happy (almost) Friday! Today was kind of my Friday since I have Friday and Monday off from work. We did the final walk through for our new house today and we do the final signing and get the keys tomorrow. When we started looking at houses in early January, we really didn’t think we’d get one this quick and the housing market is INSANE right now. Basically it’s viewing by appointment only due to Covid, and the appointment slots are 15 minutes only. So 15 minutes to view a home, and then bidding on it. Most homes around here are going for 30-70k above asking price… and people are waiving the inspection to have a better chance at getting the home. Nick and I weren’t willing to waive the inspection, so we actually lost out on the last house because of that. But oh well, we’re moving ourselves and my son into a home and sinking a lot of money into the house… we’re not waiving the inspection.

Anyways – enough of that. It’s done, we have our house as of tomorrow… so let’s get on with the post! Today I have the Fandom Flakies Box for March 2021 on the blog, and the theme is What We Do In The Shadows.

Ribbits Stickits is back again with another fab assortment of add ons. I personally REALLY recommend the acetone additive – the scent is divine this month and I cannot stop sniffing it. Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Dark Bidding

Dark Bidding is an almost plummy, rust brown type jelly base with jade to cobalt to amethyst shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes, as well as silver holographic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Night Owl Lacquer | Now I’m A Wizard

Now I’m A Wizard is a black jelly base loaded with red holo micro glitters, as well as red to orange to green to gold crystal chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

LynBDesigns | Vampires Don’t Do Dishes

Vampires Don’t Do Dishes is a deep, warm toned violet jelly base with red to orange to yellow to green shifting crystal chameleon flakes and silver holo micro flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

if you have a strong VNL, you may need a foundation/blur shade under it, or use thicker coats.

Ribbits Stickits | Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive

Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive is a mixture of glycerine and oil and fragrance that you add to your acetone to help prevent drying and that white ashen skin look.

Most do add these to pure acetone, but i personally like using it in Zoya Remove +. Remove+ does already have it’s own built in additive in a sense, but I like the additional boost.

This is a 30ml bottles, so you could shake this bad boy up and potentially get up to 4 uses out of it, depending on how much you pour per bottle. Just make sure you shake it first to mix the oils and glycerine up.

Drunk On Drug Blood is the scent, and it’s described as bergamot, grapefruit, bubbly champagne, orange, sparkling berries, juicy tangerine, green leaves, neroli and cedar.

My nose primarily picks up the berries and tangerine, so it’s very fruity… it almost reminds me of a more sophisticated version of rainbow sherbet type scent, and I think that’s because of the bubbly champagne. I don’t get a lot of the greenery or bergamot and cedar when I sniff it.

Ribbits Stickits | Waterslide Nail Decals

And finally – we have the waterslide nail decals! These are like temporary tattoos but you put em on your nails. Cut out the design you want, place in warm water for about 10-15 seconds, lift and then slide the image off and place on the nail. Pat dry and remove air bubbles – then top coat to seal it in.

I haven’t see What We Do In The Shadows… however, I did thoroughly enjoy the creations in this box. Application was perfect – and loving all the Ribbits Stickits goodies.
