Guess what? It’s that time of year again – and I am honored to be back for the 6th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2023!

This is my 6th year sharing this box, and I look forward to it every year make a donation myself since this is something that hits close to home, as almost every female in my family has had or currently has breast cancer. My mom has had it twice and luckily it was caught early both times. It’s important to get checked and not to put it off! Not just women either. No matter your gender – get checked!

A little backstory – Chrissy of Hearts and Promises (previously Turtle Tootsie Polishes, this is the first year as Hearts and Promises for this box) is a breast cancer survivor, so she wanted to create a box that would help “give back” to the cause that helped her. This will be an annual box, and this year there are 23 polishes, 1 stamping polish, about 5 – 8 non polish items, plus other items available like lanyards and bracelets. You can buy the full box, a full polish only box, or pick and choose individual items within the box. That way if you aren’t able to buy the box, you can still grab items you love and it helps be able to donate more. This is also a rather large box, so the group understands that not everyone can grab the full shebang.

All donations go to BCRF.org. As usual with charity items I receive, I will be doing a private donation to BCRF. It’s not something I was asked to do, but I like to give back, especially when I know that they could have chosen to sell these items rather than send to me.

Every item within the box has an element of pink in it. They may not be full on pink, but some elements will have the pink factor. Some items will have a capped amount, so I will try to put those in each listing.

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did use Sweet & Sour Lacquer Gloss Sauce. I purchased the Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues and the Sweet & Sour Gloss Sauce was sent as a gift.

I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I work during the day and spend weekend afternoons with Nick and Jacob, so I do most swatching when the sun is setting or gone. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

There is also an Ovarian Cancer Trio that will be in this post. You can buy that trio separately and it is NOT included in the main box. I will be kicking off the post with this trio set and some info on it.

Ovarian Cancer Trio | Hearts & Promises | Braver, Stronger & Smarter

The Ovarian Cancer Trio is a trio of polishes created as a fundraiser for a high school friend of Chrissy’s that was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer this year. This is only available as a trio (the rest of the trio is below)

$10 from every trio will be donated to Shannon and her family to their GoFundMe page.

Braver, Stronger, & Smarter is a deep teal jelly based linear holo polish with teal to blue flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fight Of Her Life is a medium sky blue crelly base with blue metallic flakes, teal flakes, turquoise micro flakes, and aqua flakes as well as aqua teal shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ovarian Cancer Trio | Hearts & Promises | Overcome Through Courage

Overcome Through Courage is medium baby blue with purple shimmer and tiny iridescent flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

All Mixed Up Lacquer | Strength Within

Strength Within is a berry pink jelly base loaded with green to blue to purple shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Anchor & Heart | Shine On Through

Shine on Through is a emdium grey crelly base with rose gold to copper to pink shifting shimmer, silver reflective glitters, as well as pink glitter in small and medium sized shapes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Beaux Reves | Hopeful Heart

Hopeful Heart is a coral pink with green to magenta shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Colores de Carol | Thrive In Pink

Thrive In Pink is a berry pink jelly base loaded with aurora shimmer, blue to purple mermaid flakes, holo flakes and black micro shreds. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Colores de Carol | Wax Melts

Wax Melts are used with wax warmers to warm and melt the waxes. They then release fragrance to scent the area.

Thrive In Pink are soy and paraffin wax melts and this scent is a mix of Citrus, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Apple, Marigold, Jasmine, Vanilla, Musk.

This is a floral forward scent to my nose, but it’s mellowed out with the citrus and vanilla and musk. It would make a nice perfume and my first thought was that it smells like more of a perfume (not in a bad way) and it’s lovely.

Crystal Knockout | You’re The Star

You’re The Star is a  bright pink crelly base with matte blue and aqua glitters, including dots and stars. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cupcake Polish | Eff Cancer

Eff Cancer is a sheer magenta jelly with red to orange to gold aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Envy Lacquer | Fighter

Fighter is a sheer pink based micro glitter polish with pink and gold glitter and pink to gold micro flakes, as well as silver reflective glitters. I used 2 coats, glitter topper and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Due to the intense amount of glitters and reflectives – this is a slightly thicker polish but not too hard to work with. It will dry with texture and I used a glitter topper to smooth before top coating.

Strength Within is a vivid fuchsia sheer jelly base packed with shimmer that shifts pink to orange to gold to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Hearts & Promises | Attitude Is Everything

Attitude is Everything is a lilac crelly scattered holo base with pink shimmer and pink chrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Hula Moon | Lean On Me

Lean On Me is a bright pink base with bright pink shimmer running through. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Jen & Berries | Surely You Chest

Surely You Chest is a bubblegum pink jelly base with red to orange to gold shifting shimmer and holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Lantern & Wren | Stamping Plate, Polish and Stamper Set

You can buy these as a set – or individual. The set includes everything pictured, and individually you can get just the plate, just the black stamping polish or just the stamper and scraper.

The plate is well etched and has various BCA images on it. The stamper is a rainbow chrome with Lantern & Wren engraved in it and the stamper head has a glitter holo look but you are still able to see through the stamper. The polish is a black stamping polish that transfers well.

Luna Lab Creations Wax Melts | Breasts! They Need Your Support

Breasts! They Need Your Support Wax Melts are scented room fragrances that release scent when warmed up in a wax warmer.

Breasts! They Need Your Support is a blend of watermelon, citrus, mint and basil. My nose primarily hits the watermelon and basil and it’s a nice, refreshing scent.

Pink Out is a bright pink tinted jelly base with pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fight Song is a pastel pale pink creme base with pink to gold to green multichrome shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fearless is a taffy pink jelly base with indigo aurora shimmer and holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Hope Is Powerful is a wine tinted jelly base loaded with rose gold holographic micro glitter as well as large particle pink to peach to gold shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Paradox Polish | 13 Years Cancer Free

13 Years Cancer Free is a warm coral crelly base with silver magnetic pigment, gold and rose gold flakes, as well as iridescent and holo flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ribbits Stickits | Waterslide Decals

These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.

You will receive one sheet as pictured for the BCA 2023 slide sheet.

Tougher Together is an orchid purple with strong pink shimmer and holo flake prism finish. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ring The Bell is a bright magenta jelly base with blue shimmer, light pink holographic glitter and magenta holographic shreds. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sassy Sauce | Focus On The Fight

Focus On The Fight is a hot fuchsia pink creme base with strong blue shimmer and blue micro flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sweet & Sour Lacquer | Remission Rocks

Remission Rocks is a flamingo pink crelly base with matte pink hexes and squares in various sizes, micro holo flakes, and black flakes. I used 3 thin coats, glitter smoother and glossy top coat for these photos.

Zombie Claw Polish | Zombies Ate My Boobs

Zombies Ate My Boobs is a bubblegum pink jelly base packed with blue to green to pink shimmer and it glows a blurply violet in the dark. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I did use a UV Flashlight to charge up these lasers for the GITD photos, but sunlight should do the trick just the same. Make sure you aren’t using a UV blocking top coat though or the glow will not be able to charge.
