NOTD: Lynnderella She Lived In A Swamp Over Illamasqua Radium

NOTD:  Lynnderella She Lived In A Swamp Over Illamasqua Radium

I realized the other night that it has been a long time since I have done a Nail of the Day (or night?) and it’s about darn time I got back into it.  Usually I do my nails late at night after my son is in bed and am just too tired to take a picture, but I think I’m going to just do it and post it up more often!

I’m going through untried polishes and Illamasqua Radium has been staring me down for awhile, but I’m on a kick where I NEED to layer something over my polishes!  I got Lynnderella’s She Lived In A Swamp the other day and thought “BAM!” that’s the one to go with Radium!  So here it is!

I love these 2 together!  I’m not a green fan really, but ugh, I do love this combo!

I picked up Illamasqua Radium at Sephora and Lynnderella She Lived In A Swamp was purchased from Llarowe during a quickie flash sale (and by quickie I mean everything sold out in a matter of minutes!)

Have a wonderful night everyone!

The New Black Haze Set Swatches and Reviews

The New Black Haze Set Swatches and Reviews

I keep seeing The New Black sets popping up all over.  I saw some ads for their items online and tried looking further into them and couldn’t find a whole lot.  Then I went to Sephora to pick up a gift and spotted The New Black Nail Lacquer Sets there as well.  In person the colors looked even better than online!

The New Black Haze set features 5 mini nail polishes for an easy Ombre set.  You can use each color as a full mani, or one color on each finger for an Ombre look.  This set (and a few others The New Black carries) will take the guess work out of gradients as well!

Here is the Haze set I received.  Oddly enough, with all of the purple nail lacquers I own, I do not have any purples that match these beauties!

Here is a swatch of each color.  This is actually my very first Ombre manicure!  Each polish spread on easily, dried within 5 minutes per coat (only 2 coats were needed). The polishes on my pinky, ring finger and pointer fingers were easily 1 coaters, but I did 2 to be safe.  The polish on my middle finger and thumb did require 2 though! My favorite of the 5 shades was the shade on my thumb nail!  A deep shimmery purple that was beautiful!

I wanted to do a design using The New Black Haze 5 Piece Set and after a bit of back and forth, I settled on a water marble!  I used different combos of the 5 polishes between the 3 fingers.  I was fairly surprised at how nicely The New Black polishes spread in the water and how easy they were to work with!  I will use these for more marbling!

I am in purple heaven with The New Black Haze set!!  I really cannot wait to pick up a few more that they make!

The New Black Nail Polish is Vegan as well as 4 Free!

The New Black polish sets can be found at Sephora or on Sephora.com.  Each 5 piece set retails for $22.00 and each polish within the set is .125 fl oz.

Make sure you check out The New Black on the following social media outlets:

I will have another post featuring The New Black Runway set within the next few days!  SO keep an eye out for it!

Final Thoughts

This is the perfect set if you are a purple lover! They have other color sets to accommodate most favorites! Although each bottle is fairly small the price point for the sets was reasonable to me. As for watermarbling - this set was spectacular to marble with! Would recommend The New Black any day and I can't wait to get my hands on more!

365 Days of Color Candy Shoppe Collection Swatches and Reviews

365 Days of Color Candy Shoppe Collection Swatches and Reviews

Happy Sunday!  Today I am showing off 3 lovely indie polishes from the amazing lady at 365 Days of Color!  I have all 5 polishes from her first release of polishes and was thrilled to have the opportunity to review 3 from her second release!  365 Days of Color’s second release is called Candy Shoppe Collection, and as I’m sure you can guess from the name, all of the polishes are named after sweets!  I did make a Walgreen’s run for polish remover while working on these swatches, and I will admit I picked up some candy bars because this collection revved up my sweet tooth.

Mint Chip:

Mint Chip is a pale mint green base with small matte black square glitter inside.  This one really got my mouth watering and it looks just like one of my favorite ice cream flavors!  3 coats were used for this photo, but I could have done 2 and been just fine.

Make Me Laugh-y Taffy:

Make Me Laugh-y Taffy was probably my favorite of the 3.  Sheer bubblegum pink jelly base with multi colored shredded glitter inside.  When I first saw the swatch of this done by 365 Days of Color, I knew that I absolutely HAD to have this color.  I used 3 coats for this mani.

Buttafinga:

This one is the reason I made a candy bar run.  Buttafinga is a mixture of coppery glitter and slightly larger square black glitter.  I layered this over black, so the black squares aren’t showing up much, but they are there.  This is 2 layers of Buttafinga over black.

There are 2 more polishes that are a part of the Candy Shoppe Collection and those 2 are Rock Candy and Sugar High.  I will be purchasing these next payday!  I already have her first release of polishes and they are just as pretty as these!  Definitely another indie polish maker to look out for!

Make sure you visit 365 Days of Color’s Blog as well as her Polish Store

Full sized polishes by 365 Days of Color are sold for $8.00 while her minis (which are shown in my photos) are $4.50.  She also has “Collection Sets” available to purchase which gives a bit of a discount!

Final Thoughts

I am loving 365 Days Of Color's Candy Shoppe Collection just as much as I loved her first collection! Each color delivered the right amount of glitter without having to manipulate or dip it out of the bottle. I love polish mini's so huge plus for me that she provides them! I am waiting on her next collection and I know it will deliver just like this one did! Amazing job 365 Days of Color!

Layla Hologram Effect Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Layla Hologram Effect Nail Polish Swatches and Review

I am so excited to show all of you these breathtaking Layla Hologram Effect Nail Polishes.  Pictures do not even do these beauties justice!  All 8 colors are fabulous and absolutely GLOW!

Layla Hologram Effect Nail Polish is made with the highest quality raw material to capture light and transform it into amazing, every-changing visual effects of liquid swirls and rainbows constantly bending and changing.  I couldn’t pick a favorite out of these 8 even if I wanted to!  They are all equally gorgeous!

All 8 Hologram Effect polishes are quick drying, 3 FREE (Free of Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene) and they absolutely do NOT test on animals

To start I used the included Layla Hologram Effect Base File.  It helps to smooth out the natural nail and give a super smooth base to apply polish to.  If you have acrylic nails or gels, there is no need to use the base file.

Now it’s time to see all 8 gorgeous Layla Cosmetics Hologram Effect’s!

01 Mercury Twilight:

Mercury Twilight has tones of white shimmering pearls and flowing rainbows.  Seriously the brightest of the 8 polishes!  Look at that hologram effect!  Mesmerizing!

02 Coral Glam:

Coral Glam is a mixture of coral shades.  It has a slight “rust” look to it as well.

03 Retro Pink:

The girly pink of the group!  Retro Pink is full of iridescent pink rainbows!

04 Ultra Violet:

Ok if I absolutely HAD to pick a favorite, this would be it.  I have a complete love for all things purple, so this one had a huge advantage.  Ultra Violet has liquid swirls of purples and lilac.

05 Jade Groove:

Jade Groove is a gorgeous delicate flow of jades and rainbows.  This is a very subtle shade of green and apart of me wishes the “jade” was more prominent but at the same time I love the way this one looks.

06 Mermaid Spell:

Mermaid Spell is a delicate flow of hues of greens and blues.  The hues are very light and almost appears as a medium silver shade in normal lighting, but in the sunlight the greens and blues come out.

07 Ocean Rush:

Ocean Rush is unbelievably gorgeous!  Very vibrant ocean blue flashes with swirls of rainbows.

08 Flash Black:

Flash Black is so dark and beautiful.  Black with a gorgeous rainbow holo swirling throughout.

I own a handful of holographic polishes and I haven’t come across one I don’t like, but all 8 of these Layla Hologram Effects really blow the others in my collection out of the water.  The holographic effect contained within these are so amazing.  When you first apply Layla Hologram Effects it appears like a scattered holo, but as it dries you slowly see the linear effect brought out and become more pronounced.

I did not use a top coat for any of these swatches, and only 2 coats of polish was needed.  The finish on all 8 of these are completely smooth and silk like!  The formula is top notch and glided on easily and effortlessly!

Layla Hologram Effect Nail Polish retails for $15.50 and are available at your local Ulta store.  Each bottle contains 10 ml of polish.

Make sure you check out Layla Cosmetics on Facebook

Final Thoughts

All of the 8 Hologram Effect nail polishes are absolutely gorgeous. I know $15.50 is a lot for some to spend on polish, but if you have a chance to splurge, I would definitely say "GO FOR IT!" even if its just for 1 of these lovelies. Highly recommended if you are looking for a gorgeous holographic polish!

NCLA Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

NCLA Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Good evening ladies!  I know its been almost a week since I have posted a review, but I took the entire week off of work and decided to relax and enjoy a couple of days in my jammies with no obligations!  I couldn’t stay away too long though!  I just got 3 lovely polishes in the mail yesterday and had to get to swatching!

NCLA (which stands for Nail Couture Los Angeles) is a company that loves fashion and adores nails!  For NCLA, the perfect outfit starts with your personal style and it ends right at the tip of your fingers! NCLA is born, bred and brewed to perfection in sunny California and fast becoming an LA icon.  NCLA is a 5 free company that says NO to Formaldehyde, DBP, Toulene, Camphor and Animal Testing!

Ready for some swatches?  Here we go!

Eight Days a Week:

Eight Days a Week is a gorgeous periwinkle blue creme with just a smidgeon of purple undertones to it.  I used two coats and a glossy top coat.  Eight Days A Week is part of NCLA’s Summer of 69 collection and a song by The Beatles!

Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
I ain’t got nothin’ but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Santa Monica Shore Thing:

Santa Monica Shore Thing is a mint green creme polish.  I love that it is a slight pastel like color, but without all the streaks and heartbreak I experience with pastels.  I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat.  Santa Monica Shore Thing is part of NCLA’s The LA Collection

Pool Side Party, All Eyes on ME!:

Pool Side Party, All Eyes on Me! is the PERFECT Summer Peach color!  I couldn’t wait to put this gorgeous peach creme on.  Another pastel without the streaks!  I’m in LOVE!  This one is also apart of The LA Collection!

The pigmentation and formula on all 3 of these colors were fabulous and the dry time was FAST!  Almost matte formula fast!  Eight Days a Week started drying by the second brush stroke on each nail, the other 2 allowed for me to finish the nail before they started drying.

NCLA polishes are available on the NCLA website and retail for $16.00 per 15 ml bottle.  You can search for a retailer near you HERE

NCLA also carries a line of Nail Wraps with some pretty amazing designs on them that you can check out HERE

Make sure you check NCLA out on Facebook as well!

Final Thoughts

While the colors I reviewed aren't "new" as I have seen them done by other companies, the formula is top notch. Pastels usually have horrible streaking issues and I never had that with these. Dry Time was good, pigmentation was excellent and the fact that these are 5 Free is even more amazing. Definitely an A from me for this brand!
