Tonight I have the Zoya Wishes Collection for Winter/Holiday 2014 to show you! They mixed things up a bit and instead of a collection of PixieDusts and a collection of cremes/shimmers/etc, Zoya mixed it up with 3 PixieDusts and 3 standard shades.
Let’s start with the PixieDusts! All 3 are Magical PixieDusts which is the newest of the PixieDust types.
Thea
Thea is a deep amethyst matte-like jelly base packed with silver holographic micro glitter and medium holographic hex glitters. I used 2 coats for these photos. The last photo will show Thea with top coat.
Imogen
Imogen is a black matte jelly like base packed with silver holographic micro glitter and medium holographic hex glitters. I used 2 coats for these photos and the last photo will show Imogen with top coat.
Nori
Nori is a sapphire blue matte jelly base with silver holographic micro glitter and medium hex glitter. I used 3 thin coats for these photos. The last photo will show Nori with top coat.
Haven
Haven is my favorite from the entire collection! This is a beautiful deep plum with a fine shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats for these photos, no top coat.
Prim
Prim is an medium icy blue metallic. Light brush stokes are visible, but overall the color is really pretty. I used 2 coats for these photos, no top coat.
Willa
Willa is an onyx black creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat. This is a great black base and I will be using it quite a bit!
Overview
Overall, I do like this collection but I’m not completely in love with it. I don’t think I’ve completely grasped Magical PixieDusts quite yet and it’s holding me back. I do love textures, but the original PixieDusts are still my favorite and a part of me is still holding onto the love of those and hoping that the original PixieDust collection is expanded at some point. The Magical PixieDusts are pretty and they don’t have that gritty texture of the other PixieDusts, and while I like them, I don’t love them.
Haven was my favorite shade by far and definitely my top pick from the 6 shades in the Wishes Collection!
Application wise, I had no issues other than some brush strokes in Prim, which is common for metallic shades for the most part.
Price:
Willa, Prim & Haven: $9.00 each
Nori, Thea & Imogen: $10.00 each
