I recently posted the Zoya Ignite Collection review which contains the gorgeous new Fall shade Sansa. When I was posting sneak peeks of the OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection last night, one shade in particular (First Class Desires) had a few people asking “Is that a dupe for Zoya Sansa?” so I figured a comparison post was in order. At the time I was asked, I knew it was close but wasn’t sure how close.
I’m going to go ahead and spoil it already. Are these dupes? No. Not exactly. Are they close enough to justify purchasing only 1? In my opinion.. yes. If I went out with the mani you are about to see, most people glancing at it would not be able to really tell. So in that sense, it could be a dupe. But if you are extremely technical, then it’s not.
You can see from this photo the index and ring finger are more purple as far as the base color goes, while middle and pinkie are more deep eggplant. That’s really the only difference. Both have the same gorgeous shimmer, and about the same amount as well. Both are opaque (and gorgeous) in just 2 coats.
So which is Zoya Sansa and which is OPI?
Zoya Sansa is more purple in the base while OPI First Class Desires is more of a deep eggplant. Both gorgeous, and if you complete collections like I do (I’m serious, I’ve bought downright hideous colors JUST because it completes a collection and not because I’m going to wear it) then you need both.
If you are on a budget, or don’t like having similar shades… then you can pick which one strikes you most (or you can find as a better deal) and snag that one.
Hope this helped some of you!
