Happy Friday! Time for another post – and this time we’re looking at the Vapid Lacquer September 2021 Release!
The Vapid Lacquer September 2021 release is a 6 piece collection that consists of 2 multichromes, a holo, a magnetic, a thermal and a tri-thermal. This is essentially the Fall release for Vapid and it definitely has the fall vibes. The thermals were my favorite part of this release.
Let’s jump in and take a look – these are set to release tomorrow!
Vapid Lacquer | Séance
Séance is a black to purple to red multichrome with a loose scattered holo. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Haunting (Magnetic)
Haunting is a deep grey creme base loaded with gunmetal magnetic pigment. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This isn’t a super prominent magnetic. The pigment almost gives a whisper of a magnetic effect. I only magnetized the middle 2 nails, and I left the outer 2 alone so you can see it both ways
Vapid Lacquer | Cabin Fever
Cabin Fever is a golden mustard linear holographic. The holo effect is much stronger in person. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Leaf Litter
Leaf Litter is a green to bronze to rust to rose to gold shifting multichrome. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is just Fall in a bottle for me.
Vapid Lacquer | Sasquatch Snuggles (Thermal)
Sasquatch Snuggles is my #1 pick from this release. This is a chocolate brown (cold) to salmonish pink (warm) with blue to purple to magenta shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This dries down to a satin finish, so I added a glossy top coat.
Vapid Lacquer | Campsite Twilight (Tri-Thermal)
Campsite Twilight is a tri thermal that shifts from black (cold) to dusty navy blue (warm) to bright orangish peach (hot) creme base with copper holographic glitters that range from micro to medium in size. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The glitters are heavier and fall to the bottom a little, but I still got a good amount on the brush with no effort. Vapid does suggest a good shake to resuspend the glitters before use.
In order to show all 3 colors in 1 shot, I did use a trick I do which is extreme heat to the nails to get them all to go to the hot color, then immediately use an ice pack on the tips so the cold tips + hot nail beds meet in the middle to hit all 3 colors. Typically for a tri thermal you won’t naturally see all 3 colors in 1 shot. Instead you will see your nails transition among all 3 depending on your body temp and the weather. When I wear tri thermals normally, I will see a combo of the 3 colors, but 2 at a time.
Vapid Lacquer | September 2021 Release
So I mentioned the thermals stole my heart for this release and I think it’s because I didn’t expect the color transitions. I didn’t expect the brown to transition to a pink and the blackish navy to a bright orangey peach.
I didn’t have any application issues with these polishes.
