Press Sample of the Vapid Lacquer
Dark Magick Collection
Giveaway Sponsored by Vapid Lacquer
Happy Saturday! I have one more week till the big move takes place. Everything is pretty much finalized and the house is ours, we just have to wait until Friday which is the official closing date. Then we have a cleaning company going in and doing a deep clean to the entire place… and then it’s time to move in! We’ve been in Massachusetts for almost 8 months, and it’s nice to know we’ll finally have our home. Plus it only adds about 7 minutes to my commute to work.
Anyways, today we will be looking at the Vapid Lacquer Dark Magick Collection!
So this was a fun collection to help with. Krys and I were chatting one night and she showed me the 2 polishes on the lower left side of the collage and said she was playing with the black to red multichrome pigment. Then as we were talking we started the “Ohh what would it look like in x color??” and she would whip it up. Some didn’t turn out, but many did. One that made it, initially Krys said “It looks a little pukey” but then as she mixed it and showed it on a swatch stick we were both like “But I don’t hate it…” which is now the color at the top right.
Overall this was a fun set to help with and it was fun to see what she came up with when mixing. A few days later she showed me all 6 new colors, the names and collection name – and here we are!
These are set to release on March 20th, but the time is TBD – so keep an eye out in group.
Lets jump in.
Vapid Lacquer | Alchemy
Alchemy is actually a yellow jelly base color, however with the pigment mixture – it went to an olive green/mustard like prugly shade. So the yellow jelly base has black to red multichrome pigment and blue to violet to pink to gold shifting iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Elemental
Elemental is the base of Alchemy without the flakes. This started as a yellow jelly base with black to red to gold shifting pigment, which makes the base an olive green/mustard like shade. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Immortality
Immortality is a deep blue leaning teal jelly base with black to red to gold shifting pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Incantation
Incantation is a medium grape purple jelly base with black to red to gold pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Due to the pigment, where the purple and black mix, it goes blurple. Which I guess Blurple also covers Black and Purple and not just Blue and Purple.
Vapid Lacquer | Mysticism
Mysticism is a burnt orange jelly base with black to red to gold pigment mixed in. The combination gives this an almost brick red jelly base that leans into deep orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Paradoxial
Paradoxial is a deep raspberry jelly base with black to red to gold pigment mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Dark Magick Collection
I really love the creations makers have been coming up with using the black to red multichrome pigment, and Krys and I were curious how it looked in various bases – and quite like the outcome. Incantation and Paradoxial were the 2 that Krys initially made before I joined in. Incantation is definitely my top pick and 2nd is a tie between Paradoxial and Immortality.
Everything applied really nicely, however they are jelly based and if you have a strong VNL – it may show through. To avoid it, you can go in with a 4th coat – or use a nail foundation/blurring base.
Also keep an eye out for additional swatches in group from Kiz of One Hundred Brushes, Toyia of A_Painted_Queen, Bria of HBH_Nails, and Stephanie of Nails_by_Yatyara
