Superficially Colorful Happy Hour Collection Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Now this collection is speaking my language!  While I’m not one to drink often, I can always appreciate a good cocktail… especially at Happy Hour!

Superficially Colorful has come up with 4 textured thermal polishes that are named after yummy cocktails, and to go with the polish, she’s also included drink recipes!

Cupid’s Cup

🍸

Changes from a dark to light pink, inspired by a juicy pink cocktail

🍸

Ingredients:

2 oz Hpnotiq Harmonie

1 oz vodka

½ oz Cointreau

½ oz lime juice

How to:

Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Strain into a chilled Martini glass.

Garnish with candy lips.

I used 2 easy coats for all photos, no top coat to keep the textured look. The photos below will show the transition from hot to cold!

Great Raspberry Flute

🍸

Changes from medium blue to light green, inspired by this lemon-y cocktail

🍸

Ingredients:

2 oz Raspberry Vodka (UV Blue)

½ oz Triple Sec

1 oz lime juice

How to:

Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Strain into a chilled Martini glass.

Garnish with a lime wedge.

I used 2 easy coats for these photos and no top coat.  Probably my favorite of the 4 shades!

Tequila Sunrise

🍸

Changes from red to orange, inspired by this beautiful cocktail

🍸

Ingredients:

1-1½ oz Grand Marnier

¾ oz Tequila – Silver

4 oz Orange Juice

2 tsp Grenadine

How to:

Shake Grand Marnier, tequila and orange juice with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Strain into a chilled collins or highball glass.

Top with grenadine and serve without stirring.

I used another 2 easy coats for this textured beauty!  No top coat.

Steamy Affair

🍸

A metallic dark brown that changes to silver with a little bit of holographic glitter, inspired by this black coffee cocktail

🍸

Ingredients:

1 oz Irish Cream

1 oz Coffee Liqueur (Kahlua)

Sugar to taste

Hot coffee

Light Cream

How to:

Add Kahlua and Irish cream to a coffee glass and stir.

Fill with hot coffee and sugar to taste.

Float light cream or half & half on top.

This is another that I loved when I put on!  I used 2 coats for these photos, no top coat.

Overview

Overall I found this to be a fun collection.  I’ve always been a texture polish lover and each shade has a nice thermal transition and just a bit of glitter.  Steamy Affair has the highest glitter content for more sparkle if you prefer that look.  I had no application issues and each polish needed just 2 coats for full opacity and a nice texture without being overly gritty.

This is a limited edition collection, so get them while you can!

Price: $9.00 Each
