Now are you ready for some glow in the dark goodness that Serum No 5 is well known for? Good because you are in for a treat!

Serum No 5 is releasing her SS15 Part 1 collection on May 1st (just a couple more days!) and there are 7 shades that make up this collection.  6 are glow in the dark which are softer shades in daylight but have an intense glow when it gets dark, while 1 is a softer shade that ties into almost a wedding theme (along with a few more older shades I’ll be sharing with you tomorrow!)

Budding Light

Budding Light

Budding Light is the only top coat in the collection.  This is a mix of micro green and turquoise flakes in a glow in the dark base.  This glows green in the dark.  You’ll see the glow in the dark shade below and with just 1 coat there is a faint glow, but the bottle kind of overtook the photo, but if you look at my nails, you can see they are glowing a bit.

The bottle definitely wanted the spotlight though.

Guiding Light

Guiding Light

Guiding Light is a sheer white shimmery polish that glows light blue/white in the dark.  I am in love with the glow on this one.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

Highlight

Highlight

Highlight is a sheer beige with shimmer glow in the dark.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos and as you can see, there is still VNL.  This is a lovely neutral though.  It glows aqua in the dark.

Something Blue

Something Blue

Something Blue is a pale sheer grey blue crelly base with blue micro glitters and white small hex glitters.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

This shade does not glow in the dark and actually ties in with various shades from past SS collections that have a wedding like theme.

Overview

All 7 shades were lovely to work with if you are okay with sheerer polishes.  They were created with a softer look in mind and I used very thin coats when I paint, but they will have more opacity if you are a little more heavy handed than I was in application.  All of them look VERY sheer on first coat but they do build up nicely.  The glow on all of them is really nice and I like that they all pretty much have a different glow color!

These look fun but I doubt I’ll ever be in a place with blacklights again.

Lisa Heath April 29, 2015 - 6:55 pm

No blacklights are used for my photos… it’s when the lights are completely off for glow in the dark.
