Serum No 5 has quite the lineup this Fall/Winter and I have the FW15 collection to show you tonight! I’ve had the majority of these swatches done for awhile, but I’m a little too shaky when doing glow in the dark photos, so they were blurry to the point they hurt to look at. Tonight after work I sat down and redid all the glow in the darks, and they turned out much better. The first batch I received also seemed to be a dud batch (or I was having a bad night) because they weren’t glowing for me. But Serum No 5’s creator, Victoria, is absolutely amazing and when I brought it up to her – she very quickly replaced them. Her customer service is seriously amazing – I’ve never had an issue and she is incredibly sweet about it.
The non glow in the dark shades will be featured first, and there are 5 non glow shades. Afterwards we will take a look at the 7 glow in the dark holographics!
Let’s get started!
Call Me Navy
Call Me Navy is a gorgeous blackened navy base with gold holographic microglitter mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Fangs For The Memories
Fangs For The Memories is a black jelly base packed with red, gold and silver hex and dot glitters in various sizes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Ladies and Magenta Men
Ladies and Magenta Men is a beautiful pink packed with shimmer and iridescent flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Sprinkles & Cream
Sprinkles & Cream is a fun crelly polish! This is a white crelly base packed with aqua, green, blue, yellow and red hex glitters in various sizes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I Sea You
I Sea You is a gorgeous glittery top coat. This is a clear base packed with matte white hex glitters in various sizes along with holographic blue, green, gold, lavender and aqua hexes. I used 1 coat over Pretty Serious Cosmetics Pookie. When I first saw I Sea You I was swatching that Pretty Serious Cosmetics Pet Names Collection and immediately thought this would make an amazing pairing. I think I was right.
Also – sorry about the bunched polish below… the top coat below the glitter apparently wasn’t full dry and I didn’t notice that mistake until I did the cropping. Oops.
Ok now onto the Holo Glows! For all 7 photo series I will post the polish as normal with both a full shot and a macro, then below the macro will be the glow shot.
If you aren’t familiar with glow in the darks – the pigment can sometimes leave a slight texture to the polish. In the case of these holographic shades, there IS a slight texture – but 1 coat of top coat did the trick to smooth it out. But, if you love textures you can leave it top coat free.
Are You Fir Real?
Are You Fir Real? Is a beautiful muted, medium dark green scattered holographic that glows aqua in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Black Rainbow
Black Rainbow is a black tightly scattered holographic glow in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This one glows a vibrant green in the dark.
Light Hearted
Light Hearted is one of my favorites! This is a peachy nude, tightly scattered holographic that glows a bright yellowy green in the dark. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat. I found this one to have the brightest glow of the 7.
Brains Over Bronze
Brains Over Bronze is a bronze tightly scattered holographic glow in the dark. This one glows a bright green in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I’m Kind Of A Big Teal
I’m Kind Of A Big Teal is a muted blue tinged teal, tightly scattered holographic. I’m Kind Of A Big Teal glows a bright aqua in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Iris In Peace
Iris In Peace is a slightly muted purple tightly scattered holographic that glows a gorgeous violet in the dark. This one glows really nicely – and I love the violet glow! It’s not a vibrant as the other glow shades, but it’s still amazing.
Wine & Whine
Wine & Whine is a dark marsala tightly scattered holographic that glows green in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Serum No 5 FW15 Collection Overview
This is a nice collection and I like the mix of shades in it. The glow in the darks all had a nice, vibrant glow (aside from Iris In Peace which is more subdued, but still glowy). I had no application issues, but if you missed it earlier in the post (right before the glows started) – the glow in the dark shades DO have a very slight texture to them, but 1 coat of top coat smoothed them out.
My Top Picks: I Sea You, Are You Fir Real?, Iris In Peace & Light Hearted
Price: $12.00 for Non Glows | $14.00 for Glow In The Darks
