Rite Aid is proud to be involved in the 2014 EIF Revlon Run/Walk in the New York (May 3rd) and Los Angeles (May 10th) events. As part of their support of EIF’s mission to raise funds to fight women’s cancers, Rite Aid recently worked with Revlon to develop the Rite Aid & Revlon’s Your Story – Your Shade, where customers were encouraged to honor someone affected by women’s cancer by entering their story and naming a shade on the Rite Aid’s Facebook Page. Two winners were selected and their winning shades are now being sold exclusively at Rite Aid until the end of May.
The Grand Prize Winner was a woman named Jill, and she named her shade “Diamond Dee” after her mother. Here is her inspiring story:
“In 2003, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I was 29 at the time. By the time they discovered it, the cancer had spread. I was with her every moment; she had overcome so much in her life! In the end she was full of love, always giving to those in need! Even today, I still use her saying, “If I have two and you have none, then you’ll have one and I’ll have one!” My mom’s nickname when I was a little girl was Diamond Dee! I miss her so and every day I strive to be even half the mother she was! She will always be my Diamond Dee“
Diamond Dee
Diamond Dee is a beautiful pearlized pink with gorgeous pink shimmer within it. A very classic color. I used 3 thin coats for this photo.
Pretty In Strength
Pretty In Strength is a beautiful hot reddish pink creme. Almost a 1 coater, but I used 2 for these photos.
Ready for a little nail art?
I decided to try stamping with both shades. I have Pretty In Strength on all but the ring finger, and then I stamped with Diamond Dee. It’s hard to see the stamp on those fingers, but I like that it shines a bit when light hits just right. Very subtle. On the accent nail I flipped it, so Diamond Dee is the base and Pretty In Strength is the stamped shade!
For all of these photos I used Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat and Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat. Both preformed well and the top coat gave a really nice glossy finish and was dry within 2-3 minutes. Great drug store top and base coat if you are in a pinch!
