This October, Rite Aid has some more amazing deals with a new Beauty Extravaganza Event! During this event I picked up some Fall 2015 Essie shades, Leggy Legend & Frock ‘N Roll, as well as the classic Essie shade, Ballet Slippers. Of course no Essie mani would be complete without Essie Good To Go Top Coat, so I picked that up as well.
I decided to go with a nice and simple nail art look for this Fall nail look and picked a simple dotticure. Don’t have a nail dotting tool? That’s okay! A simple bobby pin will do the trick (and guess what – if you happen to not have those either you can snag some at Rite Aid!)
Here are the supplies I’ll be working with for this easy to do manicure. From left to right in back: Essie Ballet Slippers, Leggy Legend, Frock ‘n Roll. In the front: Essie Good To Go Top Coat and a bobby pin.
Step 1:
First I started off with 3 easy coats of Essie Ballet Slippers for a nice, clean canvas. Ballet Slippers is a crelly like formula, so 3 coats was needed for full opacity.
Step 2:
Take your bobby pin and pull it apart so you have some separation between the 2 “ball” ends. These will act as 2 dotting tools and will make quick work of this Fall mani by using 1 end for each color of dots.
Step 3:
I used Essie Leggy Legend first and added dots in a semi random pattern, but tried to make the dots semi uniform on each nail.
To do these dots, I used a ziploc bag (again, if you’re out, Rite Aid has ’em) and added a couple drops of Leggy Legend onto the plastic bag. Then I dipped one end of the bobby pin into the wet polish and added the dots to my nails. I added some pressure to make slightly larger dots. For smaller dots, use less pressure.
Step 4:
Frock ‘N Roll is up next! Just like with Leggy Legend, I added dots with the other end of the bobby pin and applied about the same amount of pressure for similar dots and randomly placed them on the nail.
Step 5:
To complete the mani I sealed the mani with Essie Good To Go Top Coat. This is a fast dry top coat, so it makes the mani nice and glossy and within 10 minutes you can go about your day!
This is a super easy to do Fall manicure and the color possibilities are endless. You can even add more colors if you want. Right now you can find the full Essie Nail Polish Fall 2015 collection to play with and create your own Fall manicures.
All items used in this post can be found at your local Rite Aid, and this month is the October Beauty Extravaganza going on at Rite Aid. You can head to the Rite Aid site to see the deals you can score all month long.
