Press Samples of Polished by KPT Cosmic XOdus II Collection

Polished by KPT is releasing the Cosmic XOdus II collection this Saturday and you all are in for a treat! Last year Polished by KPT released Cosmic XOdus part 1 and it was gorgeous. I still wear several of those shades, so I was really happy to see she decided to expand and create Cosmic XOdus II.

This collection has some shimmers and of course, some thermals! I was actually really happy with doing thermals, usually my temp is either super cold or super warm and I need assistance from ice or the stove top (yes I know, not safe at all… I have singed a bit of hair doing this before) but last night, I was able to apply the thermals – take photos and then wait about 3 minutes and they changed on their own for warm photo shots.

It was magical. First time ever in 4 years thermals were this easy to do.

Ok enough chatter! Let’s check it out – here is the Polished by KPT Cosmic XOdus II Collection!

Dancing Around Jupiter

Dancing Around Jupiter is a rich red burgundy creme with duo-chrome shimmer that shifts from gold to violet. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Quantum

Quantum is a rich magenta cream with blue to violet shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Snow On Saturn

Snow On Saturn is a chameleon glitter topper filled with blue flakes, silver micro holographic glitters, as well as blue to purple to violet to gold color shifting shimmer. I used 1 coat over a black creme.

Electromagnetic

Electromagnetic is a stunning purple to blueto violet multi chrome polish packed with shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Snow On Saturn over Electromagnetic

Just a little bonus I used Snow on Saturn over Electromagnetic. Although you can see the shiftiness of Snow On Saturn as well, I still love the combo.

Zero Gravity

Zero Gravity is a rich copper brown duochrome polish with olive gold to violet color shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Show Me Polaris

Now onto the thermals! I was actually quite warm when doing these swatches and the polish wanted to shift quickly!

Show Me Polaris is a multi chrome thermal polish that changes from blue to violet to purple in different angles of light. When warm this thermal transitions to a soft opal-like color with the subtle shimmery color shifts of blue to violet to purple. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sol

Sol is a duochrome thermal polish that was inspired by the fiery sun. It’s a rich orange when cold and a light peach orange when warm. It also has gold to pinkish shifting shimmer mixed in. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

Gaia

Gaia is a deep green teal duochrome thermal polish. When cold it’s a deep green teal with blue and purple color shifting shimmer. When warm it’s a transparent light green but you’re still able to see the shifting shimmer within. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Polished by KPT Cosmic XOdus II Collection Overview

While Cosmic XOdus II doesn’t have as much sparkle going on as the original collection, it’s still incredibly pretty. I love all the use of subtle shifty shimmer in these shades which offers something different from all the holo and glittery you see this time of year. The thermals all transitioned nicely and I like both warm and cold versions on all 3 shades.  I did find the thermals to be a little on the thinner side and they required 3 coats for full opacity, but the formula wasn’t runny or anything. It may just be that they appeared thin since the warm states are all such a light, almost translucent shades. Overall though, I didn’t have any bad application issues to deal with.

While Snow On Saturn might not be the most unique shade, I always LOVE the mesmerizing look of these kind of glitters on black!
