Press Samples of the Polish Pickup
May 2020 | Candy Land
Disclosure: I am a paid employee of Polish Pickup for their Social Media. While this post isn’t sponsored, I am an employee of their shop
How is it time for a Polish Pickup post already?! This month is flying by – and I’m pushing to keep things moving and time keeps escaping. Today I had to take my son to his school to do a book drop off since he’s almost done with 8th grade. 1 more week and I officially have a kid in high school. I’m sad he’s missing his 8th grade activities and the big Washington DC trip (that cost me about $3200… they are refunding) but at least we’re all healthy and it is what it is.
I’m starting this post on Wednesday night, but I know full well I won’t have it done until tomorrow night. Doing what I can tonight and then will work on it during my lunch break at work and then really focus on it tomorrow after work. We’ll be taking a look at the Polish Pickup June 2020 shop which is themed Cocktails & Mocktails!
Look at that amazing assortment! I am so excited that there is so much variety in color this month.
This is actually our second go with Cocktails & Mocktails. The first go was back in July of 2017 and there were only about 29 creations for the month… we’ve grown a smidgen. So we’re now revisiting it since it was a clear winning in the voting process.
Truth be told – I don’t really drink. I’m not against it, and I do have a glass of wine once in a blue moon – but I have a control issue. Not that I can’t control drinking – but in my mind, if something happened to my son and I needed to rush him to a hospital – if Nick and I were having a drink – I wouldn’t be able to and it makes me panic a little thinking about it. It’s one of those quirks with me. If Jacob is spending the night at a friends house or was with his dad when his dad lived out here – I had a glass. As of now – I don’t remember the last time I had a sip of anything. It’s just not something I think about really. I’m more interested in coffee. When I was younger (pre-pregnancy) my drink of choice at the bar was a Hypnotiq and Red Bull or a simple rum and coke. Nick is a Scotch guy. I think we have a bottle of Scotch somewhere, but I can’t handle that stuff. He enjoys it, but he’s like me – rarely drinks. I think the bottle of Scotch is like 4 years old at this point.
I have 104 items to share this month, but I am still waiting on 2 or 3 to arrive I think. I know for sure Emily de Molly and NeVerMind Polish are on the way – but I will update the post with additional goodies as they arrive.
For all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, Sweet & Sour Lacquer Gloss Sauce as top coat (except for the photos showing Glisten & Glow, Cuticula and Vibrant Vinyls), and Night Owl Lacquer Gone Matte Top Coat unless otherwise specified.
Since I leave for work while it’s still semi dark and I get home while it’s still semi dark – I do use artificial lighting for my photos. My current setup uses Glamcor Pro Lights and I use the Elite X model. That is a link for those wanting to look, but it’s not an affiliate link. The brand did send them for me to post on Instagram too though, so it is a press sample (which I posted about a few months ago)
This is an EXTREMELY photo heavy post. I think during upload it said around 710 photos. If there is something specific you are looking for – on desktop hit CTRL + F and type what you are searching for. Otherwise, enjoy the long scroll down the page, and of course the giveaway at the end.
The June 2020 shop will open June 5th and close on June 8th.
Let’s get this party started!
77 Nail Lacquer | Mirrorball
Inspiration: Inspired by a drink from a bar in Liverpool, Mirrorball is a simple combination of gin, lemon juice elderflower and soda water. These ingredients create an otherworldly concoction and a beautiful presentation.
Description: Mirrorball is a muted turquoise base with pink iridescent flakes and shimmer that glows fuchsia red/pink and shifts from red to copper to gold. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This shade does lean a bit greener in person.
I found the formula to be a bit on the thick side, but it is 100 degrees here so it might be a weather related thing with my bottle. I did let 77 Nail Lacquer know and she will be looking into it to make sure.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 275 US / 25 UK
Alchemy Lacquers | Frambojito
Inspiration: Inspired by a classic mojito with a raspberry twist!
Description: Frambjoito is a red leaning raspberry jelly with pink to red to gold to green shifting shimmer with scattered pink to red to orange to gold to green shifting flakes and gold micro holographic glitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $11.50 | Cap: 150 US / 5 UK
All Mixed Up Lacquer | Just One Drink
Inspiration: Giant Fishbowl Drink
Description: Just One Drink is a teal jelly base with green shimmer and blue to purple to fuchsia to gold shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: None
Alter Ego | Blueberry Ginger Fizz Mocktail
Inspiration: There were many requests for non alcoholic drinks, this one sounds good
Description: Blueberry Ginger Fizz Mocktail is a deep blurple jelly base loaded with blue micro glitter and copper holographic micro glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $9.00 | Cap: None
Apipila Cosméticos | Caipirinha (Stamping Polish)
Inspiration: Caipirinha lemon
Description: Caipirinha is a bright olive green creme base with gold shimmer flecks. This is shown in 2 coats on index and pinky and stamped over black on middle and index.
I used this months Apipila Cosméticos Cocktail Party Plate for the stamping images.
Price: $9.00 | Cap: 80 US / 20 UK
Apipila Cosméticos | Cocktail Party Plate
Inspiration: Caipirinha
Description: Cocktail Party Plate is a fun stamping plate with a variety of drink images on it drawn exclusively for this month’s theme. It had good etching and I had no trouble picking up images from it. I used it in all but 1 stamping manicure in this post. I selected a few of the images to show below!
Price: $14.50 | Cap: None
AURORA 5-Free Nail Lacquer | I’m So Drunk I’m Seeing the Northern Lights
Inspiration: Aurora Jungle Juice
Description: I’m So Drunk I’m Seeing The Northern Lights is a semi sheer black jelly base with turquoise and pink flakes mixed in. The flakes help add opacity to the polish. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap:120 US / 10 UK
Baby Girl Lacquer | Doin’ The Mi-Most-A! (Thermal, Solar & Scented)
Inspiration: Sunrise Mimosa
Description: Doin’ The Mi-Most-A! is a citrus-scented, orange (cold) to yellow (warm) thermal that also changes to a peachy-red when exposed to UV light (both artificial and the real thing) crelly with red, gold and green flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Most photos show the thermal transition, and the final photo shows the solar transition. The scent is a refreshing orange citrus scent.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: 95 US / 5 UK
Baroness X | Lit Dole Whip Acetone Additive
Inspiration: Inspired by a cocktail of rum and Dole Whip.
Description: This month’s scent is Lit Dole Whip! It’s a tart, frozen pineapple treat from Disney, blended with rum. My nose picks up on the pineapple and a hint of vanilla which cuts the tartness of the pineapple just a bit, then a slight whiff of rum. The rum is almost undetectable for me and I get more pineapple and vanilla.
Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin.
Shake the vial and add the full bottle (.5oz) to 6-8oz of acetone. You can add the vial to more or less (down to 4oz of acetone, no less due to IFRA regulations). These are just suggestions for optimal scent and protection from acetone, the ratio can vary due to personal preference.
I use a full vial in 10 oz of Zoya Remove+
Price: $ 4.25 | Cap: None
Baroness X | Loco Unicorn Fluid Art Duo
Inspiration: These polishes were inspired by a beautiful berry-orange-coconut cocktail called Loco Unicorn.
Description:
Loco Unicorn – a pastel teal fluid art polish with a touch of violet to gold shimmer and glass flakies.
Coco Berry – a pastel pink fluid art polish with a touch of green to blue shimmer and glass flakies.
These polishes create the spotted effect as seen in fluid art nail polish designs. You can use them together with some white and seafoam green shades to create a water washing up on the beach effect. Of course they can be used separately to create any color combo you want. You just need one fluid art polish for cells to form. You will get more cells and colors if you use 2 fluid art polishes with other standard polishes.
I actually tried a different method this month than I did in previous months and got a better cell result. Instead of smooshing it on a mat and moving it around – I tried a watermarble-like technique. On my silicone mat I dripped polish on top of each other – like you would for watermarbling to create the rings in the water. I did 2 drops of the neon green regular polish (you’ll see it in an upcoming review post) then a drop of Loco Unicorn, a drop of neon green, then a drop of Coco Berry, another drop of green and then Loco Unicorn and again with the green and finished with another drop of Coco Berry – all on top of each other. Since it’s not in water, you basically get a polish blob. Then I slowly moved the mat a bit to spread it and as it spread – I got more cells.
After doing this, I waited 24 hours, painted my nails with the neon green (just 1 coat) and peeled the decals off, cut them to size, applied Baroness X Bind & Burnish Base Coat and applied the “decal” over each nail – one at a time. Then I used a clean up brush and acetone to remove any decal that was extended over the nail. Finally – I added top coat. I do need to work on my decal skills – but overall it’s pretty fun and I like the finished look.
I did the index nail with just the neon green and Coco Berry. Pinky is just Loco Unicorn and the neon green. Middle and ring fingers are both fluid polishes and the neon green.
Both bottles are 8ml and you get both with this listing.
Price: $12.00 for the Duo | Cap: None
Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Skooma
Inspiration: The illegal potion from the Elder Scrolls games
Description: Skooma is a dark, cool toned purple creme with vibrant blue to purple shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
Beyond the Nail | 24 Karat Martini
Inspiration: Gold Rush Martini – a Goldschläger based cocktail
Description: 24 Karat Martini is a soft ivory creme base with two sizes of gold flakes mixed in. This is a soft and delicate polish. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $11.00 | Cap: 85 US / 15 UK
Black Dahlia Lacquer | Margaritaville
Inspiration: Margaritas
Description: Margaritaville is a champagne holographic with a strong metallic gold to green duochrome shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $11.50 | Cap: None
Bluebird Lacquer | Booze Cruise
Inspiration: Inspired by Cocktail: The classic 90’s story of a handsome bartenders struggle to mix the perfect drink while learning lessons about friendship, socio-economic prejudice, betrayal and redemption.
Description: Booze Cruise is a bleached fuchsia-ish orchid neon crelly base packed with green to purple to blue shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $11.50 | Cap: None
BLUSH Lacquers | Fig Berry Fizz
Inspiration: A fancy fig cocktail.
Description: Fig Berry Fizz is a slightly dusty lilac creme base with holographic micro flakes, rose gold metallic micro flakes and shifting gold to green to blue multichrome flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
There is a very slight texture – but 1 coat of top coat smoothed it over for me.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
By Dany Vianna | Flounder Cocktail
Inspiration: drink made with OJ and Curacao Blue
Description: Flounder Cocktail is a bright, cool toned yellow crelly base that leans more into creme territory and has blue ultrachrome chameleon flakes mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
If you initially saw a tri thermal in the group for By Dany Vianna this month – that was her original polish, but when US swatchers started receiving their bottles, the thermal had already faded. Daniela didn’t want to put out an unstable product and quickly pulled it. She wasn’t sure whether to pull out for June or not – but decided to quickly decide on a more stable polish so we now have Flounder Cocktail. While the thermal was pretty – I do appreciate her pulling a product that could potentially be problematic for customers. I know she was sad the original idea didn’t work out, but I’m really loving the new polish!
Price: $11.50 | Cap: 150 US / 10 UK
By Vanessa Molina | Zombie On Fire (Magnetic)
Inspiration: Zombie flamed cocktail
Description: Zombie On Fire is a deep eggplant purple jelly base loaded with purple to pink to gold magnetic shimmer and red to orange to gold flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 300 US / 20 UK
Cadillacquer | Kinky Carnival (Thermal)
Inspiration: Kinky Carnival Cocktail
Description: Kinky Carnival is a grass green (cold) to light blue (warm) thermal packed with pink to orange to gold iridescent chameleon flakes and shimmer, as well as red to orange to green iridescent chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The blue is actually a little more grayed out in person – my camera amped up the blue and I couldn’t try to color correct that without altering the green.
Price: $13.50 | Cap: None
Cameo Colours Lacquers | Blackberry Basil Moscow Mule
Inspiration: Blackberry Basil Moscow Mule
Description: Blackberry Basil Moscow Mule is a copper to gold to green ultrachrome base packed with holo sparkle, red to bronze to copper and lime to blue to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes, as well as silver holo micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cuticula | Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat + Nail Nectar in Wild Passionfruit Bellini
Inspiration: Cuticula and Vapid Wax were inspired by a passion fruit bellini.
Description: Cuticula teamed up with Vapid Wax this month – so for the matching scent in wax, you can snag Vapid Wax as well.
This duo is not the typical base and top coat duo that you all are used to seeing from Cuticula – she changed it up this month. This month this duo will be scented Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat and Nail Nectar Cuticle Oil in a 10 ml Doe Foot Applicator in Wild Passion Fruit Bellini.
Wild Passion Fruit Bellini is a vivacious and bright fragrance with exotic passion fruit, melon, and mandarin blended with bubbly champagne, juicy nectarine and black currant. This is a softer scent and my nose really picks up on the passion fruit and mandarin most.
The top coat is less scented than usual as well. You can still smell it, but it’s lighter and more delicate than you may be used to with Cuticula.
Price: $16.00 for Duo | Cap: None (Might change to capped)
Cuticula | Purple Passion
Inspiration: Inspired by a purple passion cocktail
Description: Purple Passion is a deep purple jelly with iridescent shifting flakes, blue-green micro flakes, green metallic micro flakes, blue metallic micro flakes, turquoise metallic micro flakes, and ultra holo silver holographic micro flakes. Dreamland Lacquer | Frostbite Margarita
Inspiration: Frostbite margaritas!
Description: Frostbite Margarita is a turquoise blue crelly filled with a mix of iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a bit deeper turquoise in person – this shade of blue mutes a bit for my camera.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 250 US / 20 UK
DRK Nails | Clingy Base
Inspiration: Hurricane drink
Description: Clingy Base is a base coat that helps to apply glitters and also glitter/flake polishes. To achieve the best result, apply over a base coat and let it dry for 1 minute. Apply the glitter (I used a stamper head to “pick up” the glitters and stamp them evenly over the base color.)
Other option of use: Apply glitter/flake polishes over it and you will notice a much better coverage (instead of applying 3 coats you could get a full opacity with just 2) and it will also help to get a more leveled finishing.
I will be adding in photos showing the use of glitter polish over it (both with and without clingy base) to show a difference in application.
I did find the base to be a nice consistency without being too thick and the glitters stuck to it easily and almost “sunk” into the base just a little so there wasn’t glitter sticking up every which way.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: 150 US / 25 UK
DRK Nails | Hurricane
Inspiration: Hurricanes from New Orleans
Description: Hurricane is a violet jelly base with iridescent microflakes that shift red to pink to green, as well as aurora and iridescent flakes that shift orange to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 250 US / 25 UK
Emily de Molly | Coolth
Inspiration: Inspired by Blue Margaritas
Description: Coolth is a turquoise blue crelly with matte white glitters in both small and medium sizes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade is slightly brighter in person – my camera muted it.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: 100 US / 15 UK
Esmaltes da Kelly | Taste The Rainbow
Inspiration: Rainbow drink
Description: Taste The Rainbow is a clear base loaded with red, gold, orange, blue, green, royal blue, and violet holographic glitters, as well as silver holo micro flakes and iridescent flakes. I used 2 coats and the EDK Smoothing top coat duo for these photos.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: None
Ethereal Lacquer | Dragon Drink
Inspiration: Dragon Drinks
Description: Dragon Drink is a bright orchid pinkish purple crelly base full of copper, pink to green shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This polish is a touch deeper in color in person.
Price: $12.50| Cap: None
Fair Maiden Polish | Ain’t No Law (Thermal)
Inspiration: inspired by White Claw in the mango flavor.
Description: Ain’t No Laws is an orange (cold) to bright yellow (warm) thermal loaded with rose-golden-green shimmer and orange-gold-green iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $11.00 | Cap: None
Fancy Gloss | The Toxic B*tch (Tri-Thermal)
Inspiration: A drink called like that. 2 1/2 oz. Vodka 1 oz. Tequila 1 oz. Blue Curacao 1/2 oz. Orange Juice 1/2 oz. (15ml) Mango Juice Lemon Lime Soda
Description: The Toxic B*tch is a tri thermal that transitions from dark blue (cold) to teal (warm) to bright, neon green (hot) packed with green to blue to gold clear flakes. The hot transition is actually brighter than my photos show – it was starting to transition back to cooler transitions and dulled the brightness. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The formula was a little on the thick side, but it self leveled well.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: 260 US / 10 UK
Flirtin’ | A Taste of Summer
Inspiration: Charred Orange Whiskey
Description: A Taste of Summer is a warm, yellow tinged orange jelly base loaded with orange and gold holo glitters and flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This dries down with a bit of texture due to the glitters, but the jelly base is actually a nice consistency so it floats the glitters pretty well. You may need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish though.
Price: $11.50 | Cap: 75 US / 5 UK
Ginger Fizz Boutique | Italian Margarita Wax Brittle
Inspiration: Now that we are all staying home and cooking our meals, it’s a great time to create some mouthwatering beverages! Living in Texas, my go-to adult beverage is a margarita. I have had many different takes on this classic drink, but my favorite is the Italian Margarita. The Italian Margarita combines two of my favorites—the classic margarita and an amaretto sour.
Description: These wax shapes come in two varieties. The first shape is a margarita glass in a sunny yellow. The margarita glass shaped wax melt is scented in margarita, lime, and amaretto. The other wax shape is a fresh, green lime that is scented in a mouth watering lemon and lime scent.
These are a soy wax blend.
This is a very sunny, happy scent to me. Fresh bursts of citrus with a nice sugary sweetness. Plus it’s hot here today – so a margarita sounds delicious.
Price: $6.00 | Cap: 75 US / 25 UK
Glisten & Glow | Mountain Dew Mocktail
Inspiration: Twist on the classic Mountain Dew soft drink
Description: Mountain Dew Mocktail is a neon green tinged yellow jelly base loaded with various shapes and sizes of black and black holo glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I have cool toned skin and this definitely shows more green leaning on me. My son has more olive tones and it was more yellow on him. Either way – it’s bright and fun.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: None
Glisten & Glow | Top Coat
Inspiration: N/A
Description: Glisten & Glow brings us her top coat this month! It is unscented and gives a beautiful crystal clear, shiny appearance and it’s super fast drying. It can be used with nail art and it glows under black light.
There are a few top coat options this month and if you prefer unscented – then this ones definitely for you.
Price: $7.50 | Cap: None
Great Lakes Lacquer | Colada’s Are Calling and I Must Go
Inspiration: Sunset Colada
Description: Colada’s Are Calling And I Must Go is a hot berry base color filled with iridescent flakes that shift from orange to gold to green, a bit of shimmer to match and a soft scattered holographic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 200 US / 10 UK
Heather’s Hues | Clutching My Perla Negra (Thermal)
Inspiration: The activated charcoal cocktail called Perla Negra
Description: Clutching My Perla Negra is a thermal that shifts from black (cold) to colorless (warm) and it’s packed with a pink to gold to green iridescent shimmer and flakes and a hint of pink holo microshreds. You can use this alone like I did (3 thin coats) or layer it over a base color to make any polish a thermal… except black. It won’t do a whole lot over a black base.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: None
Heather’s Hues | WiTs Lotion in Summer Splash
Inspiration: the sweet and fruity drinks of summer
Description: WiTs body lotion is a fast absorbing body lotion that doesn’t leave my hands greasy. The texture is light and creamy and a little goes a long way.
Summer Splash is a fruity blend of sugar, summer berries and ripe pear. This is an incredibly light and sweet scent. Perfect for summer and it’s not too fragrant. I actually lean towards lighter scents like this in warmer weather.
Price: $6.75 | Cap: 40 US / 5 UK
Hit The Bottle | I Am Woman, Hear Me Pour (Stamping Polish)
Inspiration: The brilliantly coloured and deliciously tasting Parfait Amour liqueur.
Description: I am Woman, Hear me Pour is a vivid warm toned purple stamping polish with a slight blue sheen. I used this as a regular polish on index and pinky and stamped over an upcoming Ethereal Lacquer shade from middle and ring fingers.
Naturally this shade dries down to a matte finish and it’s incredibly pigmented. I used a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $8.50 | Cap: 200 US / 10 UK
Indie by Patty Lopes | Celebrating with Friends
Inspiration: Sangria Mexican Mule
Description: Celebrating With Friends is a berry red jelly base with micro holo flakes and black micro glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
Jior Couture | A Dirty Shirley
Inspiration: As kids it was such a treat getting to order a Shirley Temple. We’ve now moved on to adulting and we order Dirty Shirleys!
Description: Dirty Shirley is a red to orange jelly base with red to orange to gold multichrome shift, red to gold to green aurora shimmer and bronze to copper to green to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Dries down with a mild texture from the flakes, but 1 coat of top coat should smooth it just fine.
Price: $11.50 | Cap: None
Kathleen & Co | Cotton Candy Cocktail
Inspiration: Cocktails with cotton candy on top
Description: Cotton Candy Cocktail is a soft blue crelly base with color shifting shimmer that shifts from blue to pink. The pink shift with the blue base gives it a glowy almost periwinkle look. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: 300 US / 20 UK
KBShimmer | Hot Summer Nights Hand & Body Scrub
Inspiration: Tropical Drinks
Description: Hot Summer Nights starts with the scent of a blended tropical drink. Juicy pineapple is the star of the show, while subtle supporting notes of coconut and mango give way to the sweet heat of spiced rum. You can almost smell the warmth you feel after a sip of the Captain, adding depth and heat to this unique scent. Accented by soft swirls of peach, cream, and gold, this scrub mimics the frozen look of your favorite blender drinks for a tropical tub-time treat.
This is yet another scrub that makes me want to eat it. It smells SO good. The rum does give it a warmer scent and I love how the coconut and mango play off the pineapple and help cut the tartness.
KBShimmer’s sugar scrubs are good for all over the body or as a hand scrub, the sugar particles are medium grit so they do a good job getting dry spots on your body situated.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: None
KBShimmer | Secret Menu
Inspiration: Pink Purple Starbucks Drink
Description: Secret Menu is an indigo jelly base with shimmer that shifts to bold purple and berry fuchsia and hints of golden pink at extreme angles. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: None
Leesha’s Lacquer | Lit With Leesha
Inspiration: One of the last time I went out in the town, I had a delicious drink called a garbage pail that had a ton of different alcohols and a Red Bull on top. This polish is inspired by that drink.
Description: Lit With Leesha is a medium blue jelly base with blue to green flakes and blue to purple flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The flakes are nicely done in this polish – they are there and visible, but they aren’t overloading it. There is also more opacity in person – the light positioning I use allows the light to pass through the jelly easier which makes it look more transparent than it is in person.
Price: $11.00 | Cap: 175 US / 25 UK
Lemming Lacquer | Jedi Mind Trick
Inspiration: Unspecified
Description: Jedi Mind Trick is a smokey turquoise creme based linear holographic with pink to gold to green multichrome shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 250 US / 25 UK
Lilly Anne’s Garden | Lotion in Limoncello
Inspiration: Limoncello
Description: Lilly Anne’s Garden lotion soaks into my skin easily, a little goes a long way – and it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. I also double it up as a cuticle cream throughout the day. It’s a thick cream and the photo below of it on my cuticles is an accurate representation of how I slather it on at the end of the night. I let it sit for 10 minutes and then massage it in all over my fingers, hands and wrist area. When I’ve had a super intense swatch session, I apply some cuticle oil, then a layer of this lotion on top to “seal” the oil in and both work their magic.
Limoncello is a refreshing blend of sparkling lemon, sugared mint and fresh verbena. This is a light and refreshing scent. I mainly picked up the lemon citrus and a slight hint of mint.
Price: $5.50 | Cap: 100 US / 10 UK
Lollipop Posse Lacquer | To San Antonio, With Love
Inspiration: The Sangria Margarita from La Gloria, a beautiful, authentic Mexican restaurant found in the Pearl Brewery area of San Antonio, Texas. My husband and I fell in 100% LOVE with San Antonio when we visited for the October 2019 TIS. One of my best memories of the trip is an amazing afternoon spent dining by the riverside at La Gloria, enjoying this epic margarita and some of the best Mexican cuisine we’ve ever had.
Description: To San Antonio, With Love is a pink leaning neon red crelly filled with flakes that shift orange, gold, red, and green. Against my skintone, this shade bordered on coral but was definitely more red than pink. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Inspiration: Health, magic, and cure-all potions from the Legend of Zelda

This months scents are fruity but they aren’t cloyingly sweet. They are quite mellow but you can still detect each fruit within it. My favorite of the 3 is Drink To Your Health.

Rogue Lacquer | Take It Off Soy Based Nail Polish Remover
Inspiration: Cabernet Wine
Description: This is a soy based polish remover so it is gentler on the skin and nails. This is a 2 oz bottle of remover in a glass bottle.
Soy based removers are generally better for the nails since they contain vitamins and oils to moisturize, strengthen and hydrate while still effectively removing polish. They do not work as quick as pure acetone – but they do still get the job done.

Skyline Soapworks | Sweet Poison Dip Powder (Thermal)
Inspiration: A multicolor blue cocktail I had while on my honeymoon
Description: Sweet Poison is a thermal dip powder that goes from a deep blue (cold) to teal (warm) with aqua micro flecks.
This is my third attempt at dip powder and I’m getting quick at it. For all steps I used, I went by this Youtube Video, and I do suggest you take a look as she’s very helpful – especially for beginners like me.
This is for the powder only. I do have a 3 piece nail dip liquids set I bought on Amazon before, which is what I used with this powder. For the first time though – it was a lot easier than I thought. No “curing” with a lamp and nothing was overly difficult for me.
The steps are as follows (and you do 1 nail at a time for each “coat”)
Apply base – this smells like nail glue. Immediately after applying the base, dip in the powder, raise finger and “tap” off excess powder. Then use a fluffy brush to remove additional excess powder.
Rinse and repeat for 2 more coats.
Apply activator to each nail. File and buff each nail. Apply activator again and wait 5 minutes. Then top coat.
It seems like a lot, but it actually moves quite quickly.
Price: $6.50 | Cap: 50 US / 25 UK

Starlight Polish | Butterfly Lemon Drop Slush
Inspiration: Butterfly Lemon Drop Slush – a Lemon Drop made with crushed ice made from butterfly pea flower tea. The butterfly pea flower tea is initially blue, but when it’s exposed to something acidic, it brightens to purple, and then to pink! As the blue crushed ice melts, the butterfly pea flower blue encounters the lemon juice and it creates a gorgeous color gradient in the drink, with blue ice, purple near the ice, and pink further out. Of course, you can also skip the alcohol and just do a Butterfly Lemonade Slush, too!
Description: Butterfly Lemon Drop Slush is a magenta-purple with blue and purple color shifting aurora flakes, translucent blue flakes, blue-purple iridescent glitter, and a touch of color shifting blue-purple shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sun ripened, juicy watermelon. Why’s there a hole in the top? Is this a special watermelon? We’re not sure, but it says this one is for adults only.
This smells So. Flipping. Good. It’s a sweet, summery spiked watermelon. It really makes me want a watermelon alcohol slushie.

Scent notes: blackberry, raspberry, dark fruits, orange, bourbon, woody, vanilla, fresh lime, mint leaves, sugared musk.
This has a very earthy scent to me and I pick up the bourbon and musk mostly – and the fruit notes are lighter.

The scent is Blue Hawaiian – and it smells just like the cocktail. YUM! If you’ve never had one – the scent is a mix of rum, pineapple juice, coconut, blue curacao liquor and orange juice topped with a maraschino cherry.
If you liked her Deluxe Cuticle Cream – you’ll go nuts for her Cuticle Balm. Trust me and my empty jar.

Double Bond:
This revolutionary 2 in 1 base coat is formulated with proteins to fill imperfections and ridges on the surface of the nail leaving you with a smooth even base ready for polish. Vibrant Vinyls added sticky bond base coat to the ridge filler to grab onto your polish and keep it there.

Polish Pickup June 2020 | Cocktails & Mocktails
Of all the months I’ve been doing these posts – this selection of color might be the most diverse I’ve seen. For once it’s not 80% blues and purples. I was happy to see green represented so much this month – and so well! I’m not a huge green fan, but all the ones I received were so beautiful on the nail.
I’m still waiting on at least 2 items, and I will add them in when they arrive.
Thank you again to all the makers who sent this month!
Wishlisting starts this Sunday – so be ready!
