Lately I have been trying to actually post my purchases a little more. Usually I make time for products sent for review, and set aside personal purchases to post later… and then it never happens.
I actually spend way more than I should on cosmetics of all kinds and want to do at least 1 post a week that is a what I bought. This week, it’s the Orly Baked Collection for Summer 2014. I eyed this for awhile and when I was buying the China Glaze ‘The Giver’ Collection, I saw they carried this too, so why not?
Let’s take a look at these 6 sizzling colors!
Hot Tropics
Hot Tropics is my favorite of the bunch. This is a bright pink toned purple with intense gold glass flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Ablaze
Ablaze is a neon orange with gold glass fleck shimmer in it. Super super bright and the shimmer really gives it even more oomph.
Tropical Pop
Tropical Pop is a yellow based orange neon creme. This one is super bright and the formula was a DREAM to apply! I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Neon Heat
Neon Heat is a neon pink creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Saturated
Saturated is a deep and vivid violet creme. My photos are coming out a touch blue, and it’s much more purple than my camera would capture. This is the darkest of the group, but very pretty still. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Lush
Ever buy a polish just to complete a collection? That’s pretty much what happened with Lush. I like the sheer yellowy green jelly base and gold shimmer, but the silver holographic bar glitter isn’t my style. I used 3 coats of Lush on it’s own for these photos and while I’m not a fan of bar glitter, they did behave well for this mani. Had the bar glitter not been there, I would have loved it.
Overview
AM I happy with my purchase? Yes! 5 of the 6 polishes I absolutely loved. Lush was ok. If I wasn’t obsessive about completing collections, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. Application was good on all of the polishes and it’s definitely a nice, bright collection!
