I have the third newest ORLY Color Blast Disney collection to show you now. This will wrap up the newest sets I’ve picked up. This time we’re going to take a look at Mulan! In case you missed the past ORLY Color Blast Disney collections, I’ve shown Elsa, Belle, Ariel & Pocahontas.
Now, I’ve actually never seen Mulan (not sure how that happened and I didn’t realize I hadn’t seen it until I grabbed this collection) so whether this is a good representation or not, I’m not sure!
Let’s take a look!
Speak Your Mind
Speak Your Mind is a vibrant pinkish fuchsia creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Speak Your Mind might look close to Free Spirit from the Elsa Collection, but it’s not really. Free Spirit is darker and has a tinge of purple. I have included swatch stick comparisons below the closeup photo.
Speak Your Mind is on the left, Free Spirit is on the right.
Family Honor
Family Honor is a bright neon yellow. I actually don’t think I have a shade of yellow quite like this in my collection. I did have some streaking when applying Family Honor and needed 3 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Be True To Your Heart
Be True To Your Heart is a gorgeous glittery top coat. It’s a clear base packed with iridescent shimmer and magenta holographic microglitter mixed in. I used 1 coat over Speak Your Mind.
Princess Ping
Princess Ping is a peach creme. I used 3 thin coats for these photos. I had minor self leveling issues with Princess Ping.
Cri-Kee Mini Kit
And here is the Mulan mini kit for this collection. Princess Ping is included in it, which is also available in full size. The other 2 shades in the Cri-Kee Mini Kit are only available in the kit.
Mushu
Mushu is a metallic blue green shade. There are fairly visible brush strokes, but overall it’s not horrible. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Strength & Discipline
Strength & Discipline is a clear base with matte white bar, microglitters and square glitters as well as peach, orange, white and powder blue bar glitters. I used 1 coat over Princess Ping for these photos. One small concern I have is that the powder blue bar glitters looks like the color is bleeding out, which you can see below.
ORLY Color Blast Disney Mulan Collection Overview
So honestly, I can’t tell you if this collection is a good representation of Mulan since I’ve personally never seen it. I do like the colors, but I can’t say for sure how ORLY Color Blast did. I had minor issues with Family Honor and Princess Ping when applying, but the other 4 shades were fine.
Be True To Your Heart is probably my favorite in this set – but I love a good glitter top coat.
Price: $6.99 Full Size | $10.99 for Mini Kit
