Tonight I have 6 shades from the OPI Infinite Shine line to show you. This is OPI’s gel hybrid collection. What is the difference between Infinite Shines and gel? Infinite Shine shades do not require a light system to cure, but the top coat does harden and “cure” overtime in natural lighting.
The OPI Infinite Shine line is a 3 step system – primer (base coat), color and then gloss (top coat).
The 6 shades I’m about to show you had high points and low points, and I will go over most of those in the overview section at the end of the review.
Let’s take a look at these shades.
Maintaining My Sand-ity
Maintaining My Sand-ity is a light sandy beige creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
It Never Ends
It Never Ends is a pink toned tan creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
No Stopping Me Now
No Stopping Me Now is a bright red toned orange creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
In Pursuit Of Purple
In Pursuit Of Purple is my favorite of the 6 shades. This is a vibrant lavender creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Indignantly Indigo
Indignantly Indigo is a gorgeous vibrant indigo creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Raisin’ The Bar
Raisin’ The Bar is a deep cherry creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Overview
As I said earlier, these shades have high points and a couple low points for me.
High points: super gloss shine, amazing pigmentation, self leveling and smooth formula. To be completely honest, the 6 shades I got were probably some of the easiest shades I’ve ever applied and they were all opaque in 2 coats.
Low points: I’ll point out the obvious first – the colors are not incredibly unique. While the top coat provides high shine, it also provides small bubbles when dry and it picks up the color of your polish onto the clear bristles. You can see Indignantly Indigo on the tips of the bristles in the photo below. It did this with all 6 colors regardless of how long I let the color dry.
While this wasn’t a deal breaker (the polish disappeared as soon as I dipped the brush into the bottle) I do wonder if over time the top coat will be affected from this?
As for wear, I only wear tested In Pursuit Of Purple and I saw my first sign of wear after 4 days. I will say though, it is my busy season at work so I’m not entirely shocked because my hands and nails take a beating this time of year. I’ll have to try a new wear test when I’m not in my busy season to get a normal wear time.
I do like the OPI Infinite Shine line so far and am eyeing a couple more colors to pick up. They aren’t as long lasting as typical gels, but even in my busy season, they do seem to last longer than typical polish.
