Ok everyone, I’m really excited about tonight’s post. This is the first time in a long time that I was absolutely in LOVE with an entire OPI collection, application and all! Which collection? Well the OPI Iceland Fall 2017 Collection of course!
First off, a few months ago I joined a new network that is specifically geared toward Instagram and Youtube more than the physical blog. While I love my blog, sometimes I get a little overwhelmed when work is busier and my son’s schedule is all over the place. The network is Octoly (for those curious) and it allows me to try out new brands and do mini reviews or features on my Instagram account. When I saw Octoly had the OPI Iceland Collection up for grabs, I applied right away and here it is!
Yeah I know I swatch for OPI usually, but I haven’t gotten the press release for this collection yet, and I didn’t want to miss out!
So thanks to OPI and Octoly – I have it here to share!
When I was going through the bottles on Tuesday, I was pleasantly surprised to see 2 stunning shimmers in this collection, and a nice assortment of cremes in shades I don’t really see much. As a whole, I found this collection incredibly well done and beautiful. It really got me into the Fall palette and excited for what’s to come in the next few months!
Much like the last couple OPI Collections I received, these are in the Infinite Shine formula, which I tend to like a bit better than the normal formulas. The brush is perfection for me too! Wide, flat brushes with slightly rounded ends.
Ok I’ll shut up now and show you the goods. I present to you the OPI Iceland Fall 2017 Collection! BOOM!
OPI Aurora Berry-alis
OPI Aurora Berry-alis is a slightly dusty pink leaning berry creme. This was almost a 1 coater, but I did 2 for these photos.
OPI Check Out The Old Geysirs
OPI Check Out The Old Geysirs is one of the gorgeous shimmers in this collection. This is a super grayed out blue creme base packed with vibrant blue shimmer that actually as a slight violet shift at extreme angles. The formula was a touch on the thick side, but not difficult to work with. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Icelanded A Bottle Of OPI
OPI Icelanded A Bottle Of OPI is a super creamy cafe latte neutral. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI I’ll Have A Gin and Tectonic
OPI I’ll Have A Gin and Tectonic is a peach creme with a touch of beige to it. Peach shades usually give me super lobster hands, but this one was mellowed out enough that it worked with my skin tone. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Krona-logical Order
OPI Krona-logical Order is a dusty espresso brown, but it has a touch of rose in it. It’s not a straight espresso. Very nicely done. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Less Is Norse
OPI Less Is Norse is a dusty deep navy blue creme. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI One Heckla Of A Color!
OPI One Heckla Of A Color! is a medium dusty mauve with grape purple tones. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Reykjavik Has All The Hot Spots
OPI Reykjavik Has All The Hot Spots is a deep almost bronzey rose metallic shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Brush strokes are visible, but that’s to be expected with this type of finish.
OPI Suzi And The Arctic Fox
OPI Suzi And The Arctic Fox is an interesting shade and I kind of fell in love with it. It’s a super deep dusty greyish-bluish-eggplant creme. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI That’s What Friends Are Thor
OPI That’s What Friends Are Thor is a deep, warm chocolatey brown. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI This Isn’t Greenland
This is one of those shades that when I saw the bottle I thought “Ugh.” Then I put it on and was like “Ohh!” it actually looked really good on.
OPI This Isn’t Greenland is a creamy, slightly dusty pea green with tinges of yellow. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Turn On The Northern Lights!
I saved the best for last! OPI… this color is incredible! OPI Turn On The Northern Lights! is a gorgeous deep indigo almost jelly-like base and has red to copper shifting shimmer in it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Iceland Fall 2017 Collection Overview
This truly might be my favorite OPI collection of 2017. The formulas are near perfect. OPI Check Out The Old Geysirs was the only shade a touch on the thick side, but other than that one shade, they were all perfection. I also really love the color palette they went with and find all 12 shades wearable for me. The shimmers were by far the standouts though! I want MORE of these types OPI! They completely nailed them. The shimmer didn’t disappear on the nail and they are so beautiful.
This is the Infinite Shine formula for this collection, if you want to check out the normal lacquer formula – Karen over at ManiGeek has them up! She and I generally have the same formula preferences, so I trust her thoughts on the normal lacquer reviews.
My Top Picks: Turn On The Northern Lights!, Check Out The Old Geysirs, This Isn’t Greenland, Less Is Norse and Suzi And The Arctic Fox
