Press Sample of OPI Hello Kitty Collection
The OPI Hello Kitty Collection landed in my mailbox recently, and I couldn’t wait to start it. Growing up I always loved Hello Kitty (Keroppi was actually my favorite) and so I was actually kind of excited to see OPI did a collection with Hello Kitty as the theme.
OPI wanted to infuse this collection with all the charm and playfulness of its namesake. Together with their names, these lacquers capture Hello Kitty’s world to perfection. Think delicious pinks, punchy primaries, pearly white and licorice black. Hello Kitty by OPI celebrates all things happy, cute, colorful and sweet with 12 limited-edition nail lacquers and matching GelColor shades.

OPI Kitty White is a pearly white that needed 3 coats for full coverage. It can be worn alone or layered over other shades.
OPI Charmmy & Sugar
OPI Hello Kitty Collection Charmmy & Sugar Swatch
OPI Charmmy & Sugar contains a mix of colorful small hex glitters mixed into an iridescent pink base. This can be worn alone or layered over another shade. I used 3 thin coats and a top coat for these photos.
OPI Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel
OPI Hello Kitty Collection Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel Swatch
OPI Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel is a sheer fuchsia jelly base packed with pink and magenta microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. You can also layer this over another shade. One of my favorites of the collection and what you see in the bottle perfectly translates to the nail.
OPI Charmmy & Sugar, Kitty White and Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel over Never Have Too Mani Friends!
I wanted to show the 3 shades over a black creme to show they layer as well. These are all 1 coat over OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends! which you will see a little later in this post.

OPI Spoken From The Heart
OPI Hello Kitty Collection OPI Spoken From The Heart Swatch
OPI Spoken From The Heart is a super hot pinky red coral. I had a little trouble capturing it because it’s close to being neon, but not quite. It’s a touch brighter and pinker in person. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI 5 Apples Tall
OPI Hello Kitty Collection OPI 5 Apples Tall Swatch
OPI 5 Apples Tall is a gorgeous apple red creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI My Pal Joey
OPI Hello Kitty Collection OPI My Pal Joey Swatch
OPI My Pal Joey is the perfect true blue creme. Application was perfection – but this is the type of blue with stinky pigment. If you’re a blue lover you know what I’m talking about. Some blue pigments have a skunk smell, so fair warning. Is it worth getting? Yes. Despite the scent – I still love it.
I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI My Twin Mimmy
OPI Hello Kitty Collection OPI My Twin Mimmy Swatch
OPI My Twin Mimmy is a sunny yellow creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends!
OPI Hello Kitty Collection Never Have Too Mani Friends! Swatch
OPI Never Have Too Mani Friends! is a basic black creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
OPI Hello Kitty Collection Overview
Overall, I was impressed by the application of all 12 shades. I didn’t have any issues and all were perfect in 2-3 coats. The colors aren’t the most unique, but if you are looking for these shades with flawless application, then they are worth picking up. The 3 shimmery shades were nicely done as well and translated well from the bottle to the nail.
I also wanted to say thank you to OPI for not including a metallic base with hex glitters in this collection.
There is one Special Edition shade in this collection that isn’t shown and that’s Say Hello Kitty! which also includes Swarovski crystal bows and retails for $19.95.
Price: $9.50 Each
WHERE TO FIND THEM: ULTA, ULTA.com, and select professional salons
