November Nail Art Society Bag
If you haven’t received your bag yet, and want to keep it a surprise, you might want to stop reading at this point!
I received my November Nail Art Society Bag tonight, and I am pleased with it. For $9.95 a month you get polish and nail art supplies/tools to try out new trends. I signed up for this because I figured it would be a good way for me to try out some nail art (which I dabble in, but am not too good at) without buying a ton of supplies and then having them sit in a corner because it wasn’t for me.
Here were the contents of my November Bag!
First thing I noticed? 3 Postcard like cards in the package. One was a promo like card for the polish brand LVX (which is the polish that was included in the bag). It lets me know a little about LVX, they are a 5 free polish, Vegan and they don’t test on animals. Second card is an instruction guide to do Feather and Sequence manis, including all the supplies you will need and some tips and tricks. The third card I thought was a nice touch. All to often lately we are seeing blogger photos popping up that have watermarks cropped out and no credit anywhere to be seen. The third card had 6 images on the front:
On the back of the card you find a list of the bloggers who were featured on the front, a small blurb about the blogger, their website and their social media contacts:
Now onto the bag and it’s contents.
First item? A black sequined cosmetic bag (or nail art bag?). Very cute bag. Doesn’t feel super cheap, but it doesn’t feel high end either. All the sequins are intact though and none look like they are falling off anytime soon.
Next up, feathers to do a Feather Mani. I have not tried one of these yet, so I was a little excited to receive this. It looks like my baggie has 6 small feathers in it.
Then comes the striping tape. I purchased striping tape off Ebay awhile ago, so I do have this already – but I see a lot of girls asking about it because they want to try it out. Striping tape is fun once you get the hang of it! Mine came in silver.
The last Nail Art item are Sequence. There is a little pot of them in here to try. Mine came in silver. These should be fun to mess with as well!
I decided to add 2 more photos to this post. The material Nail Art Society provided says “Feathers and Sequence” which is why I typed out “Sequence”. I did wonder if they made an error and it should be “Sequins”, but since I don’t do much nail art I left as is in case it was just something I hadn’t used before. A quick google search on “Nail Art Sequence” pulled up images of round glitter/sequins much like I received, so I went with it. It could be numerous people misspelling it, I really don’t know. Here was the material provided:
As you can see, “Sequence” is used on the cover and throughout. Either way, the bag contained small, flat, round nail art items.
And now … the polish! The polish included in my box was from the brand LVX in the shade Legendaire. Legendaire is a greyish lavender (their website describes it as a unique muted majestic hue mixed with complex gray undertones). The polish retails for $16.00 on the LVX site HERE and browsing through I actually found a couple polishes of theirs I liked. I used 2 coats of Legendaire for the mani in the picture below and there didn’t seem to be any formula issues. LVX is a chunky square bottle and a black square cap which comes off to reveal a smaller round brush handle. LVX is 5 free, Vegan and does not test on animals.
Overall, I am happy with my first bag. I felt that for $9.95 it was worth it and I look forward to future bags. The value of the bag was worth more than what I paid, the polish alone was decent quality and retails for $16.00. Hopefully Nail Art Society keeps this up, and I don’t regret signing up for the Nail Art Society subscription without knowing much about it. This is their first bag sent out ever, so I had nothing to base it on like I did with MyGlam (now Ipsy) and Birchbox (which I have cancelled already… this was the Birchbox replacement).
If you are looking to sign up you can go to their website HERE. This is NOT a referral link, they don’t seem to have one, it’s just a standard link to their website.
I understand this monthly box may not be for everyone, especially if you are not into nail art. But if you are into nail art, or would like to mess with it a bit – this is a decent box to start with. I’ve been wanting to do more artsy nail things on the blog, and this is a good place for me to start.
