My Basic Winter Essentials

Winter has been rough this year. Aside from my normal running around, things just seem so out of sorts.  There’s a few things I always keep on hand though to make sure I’m prepared for this chillier weather! This list will not include my mani must haves for Winter, this is mainly the “everything else” must haves since my mani list is quite extensive!

I’ve mentioned I’m a minimalist before right? I know my “must haves” seem like very few items, but hear me out. I change my makeup and lip colors daily. My hand creams change as well. So I didn’t include items I swap out regularly. Hard to be a ‘must have’ if I don’t use it on a “MUST HAVE” basis.

Ready for my minimalist list?

There you have it, my basics!

Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer – I work in an office and on any given day someone is either feeling like they are getting something, already has something or is just getting over something. On top of that, I have an almost 12 year old boy and his school germies. To add to that even further – it’s tax season! I work in an accounting firm, so unless you are on your death bed, everyone is kind of needed to keep operations running smoothly. Of course if you’re sick, you’re sick – so take time off, but if avoidable, that’s even better.

Herpecin L – I already did a post on Herpecin L and how we came to find it. Basically my son needed more lip balm and we were at Walmart and an employee suggested Herpecin L for his severely chapped lips. I always thought this was JUST a cold sore product, and since we had no cold sores – we had no reason to grab it. It quickly became his favorite, and mine too. So it’s always in my bag now. I actually carry 2. Mine and then Jacob’s backup. Anyone with kids knows you always have a backup for them so they don’t steal yours.

Altoids – Yes, I always have a little tin of these suckers with me.  Is it a Winter essential? Not really, it’s more of a year round thing. They are small and easy to carry. Why do I need them? Because when I order my lunch or dinner I do it based off what makes my tummy grumble the most. If that’s something loaded with garlic or onions, then I still have to feed the beast. You don’t anger the beast. The Altoids are to save everyone else moreso than me. You’re welcome.

Scentbird Fragrance Case – I was going to initially say Scentbird Fragrance, but the fragrance changes all the time. I do keep their handy fragrance case with me all the time and swap out fragrances regularly.  I love the case it comes in though and always have it in my purse. Only the pink one though. I have 6 of the cases and the pink is the only one I carry.

So there you have it, my absolute basic Winter essentials that I always have on me. These items keep me as germ free as possible, with softer lips and allow me to eat whatever my heart desires without making coworkers and friends suffer after.

As I mentioned, I will have a more extensive list for my hand/nail care essentials. I have various scenarios that make it so I have to carry more necessities for that!

You can find Herpecin L, Purell and Altoids at your local Walmart all year round. Scentbird is a subscription service I pay for to get my fragrance fix.

I’m slightly addicted to Altoids. I love keeping them around, as well as hand sanitizer because – eww, germs.

I’ve always gotta have some mints in my bag. Hand cream helps especially when it’s so dry.

This sounds great for maintenance. I had no idea they had a lip balm.

Purell is life! I use it and lather my kids in it everytime we go into a store, touch shopping carts.
