Mentality Nail Polish The Frosty Mattes Swatches and Review

***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***

If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is info@mentalitynailpolish.com

I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.

Mentality is the master of all matte polishes.  You need a shade – they probably have it, or are in the process of making it.  Personally, I adore matte polishes, and with Mentality matte polishes, you usually get the matte you love… but if you add top coat – you get a shimmer that was hidden in it’s matte state that is absolutely to die for!

Today I have The Frosty Mattes to show you.  When left in their natural state, they remind me of speckled eggs.  A nice matte base with some complimenting glass flecks mixed in for a little oomph.  But when you add a top coat – the glitter is amplified and the shimmer in the base shines through.

Take a look!  All photos will show without top coat, then directly below with top coat!

Biscotti

Biscotti is a frosty light beige matte base with bronze glass flecks within.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta is a frosty pink matte base with red glass flecks.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Tart

Tart is a frosty indigo matte nail polish with bluish purple glass flecks.  The purple flashes perfectly as soon as top coat is applied, although it is subtle.  I used 2 coats for this photo

Cobbler

Cobbler is a frosty light blue matte nail polish with blue glass flecks.  While it looks fairly similar to Tart, the purple flash isn’t in this one, and the base is slightly more blue.

Shortcake

Shortcake is a frosty light golden white matte nail polish with gold glass flecks.  Such a delicate shade!  I used 2 coats for this photo

Cupcake

Cupcake is a frosty light pink matte nail polish with pink glass flecks.  Another delicate and lovely shade!  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Scone

Scone is a frosty light orange matte nail polish with copper glass flecks.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Overview

While I love mattes, I think this collection really blows it out of the park when top coat is applied.  The glass flecks sparkle and come alive.  I love that they can be worn either way though.  Dry time was quick, I didn’t have any lumps and application was completely smooth.

My Top Picks: Shortcake, Cupcake, Tart and Panna Cotta
