Magic 8 Box – Rainbow Brite

Now it’s time for the July 2016 Magic 8 Box, and the theme is Rainbow Brite!

Here’s the breakdown for the Magic 8 Box (if you are new to it): it will contain products from 8 brands. 4 will be permanent brands (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, Rica and My Indie Polish) as well as 4 guest makers. For May the guest brands are Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish, Dreamland Lacquer, Contrary Polish and Candied Apple Polish.

This month’s theme is Rainbow Brite, so each polish drew inspiration from that prompt.

Let’s take a look

Philly Loves Lacquer – Shy Violet

Shy Violet is a deep violet purple holographic filled with purple micro flakes, blue to violet ucc flakes, holo microglitter and spectraflair. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers – Lala Orange

Lala Orange is an orange crelly base with scattered holo and orange holo microglitter mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Rica – Rainbow Brite

Rainbow Brite is a multicolored microglitter top coat with silver holo microglitter mixed in. I used 1 coat over a minty base for these photos.

My Indie Polish – Romeo Sprite

Romeo Sprite bright is a bright red linear holo filled with red micro glitter and red shimmer, I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Dreamland Lacquer – Spark Sprite

Spark Sprite is a bright yellow holographic with holo microglitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish – Patty O’Green

Patty O’Green is a neon green crelly filled with lime micro glitter and shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Contrary Polish – Champ Sprite

Champ Sprite is a cobalt blue jelly filled with iridescent rainbow flakies and shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Candied Apple Polish – Tickled Pink

Tickled Pink is a pink crelly with glitter in various shapes and sizes of all the colors of the rainbow. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is the only maker in the box that I wasn’t familiar with, but this polish applied smooth and perfect.

July 2016 Magic 8 Box – Rainbow Brite Overview

This is a great group of colors for a Rainbow Brite theme and I enjoyed playing with them. I’m familiar with 7 of the 8 makers in the box, so I was excited to see a new-to-me maker and getting to try her polish. I had no application issues with these shades at all.
