And we’re back for another collection releasing today… this time we’re looking at the Glisten & Glow Gone Too Soon Collection!

The Glisten & Glow Gone Too Soon Collection is inspired by 4 musicians that all passed away at age 27. We will forever remember the wonderful music of Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse.

I know growing up, my mom and uncle would often talk about Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. I remember being in 6th grade when Kurt Cobain passed away, and Amy Winehouse really wasn’t that long ago (11 years ago) – and I was 29.

This collection will be releasing tonight at 6pm Eastern. For all photos I am using artificial lighting. Glisten & Glow Top Coat (PR for PPU) was also used to top off all of these photos. I had planned on having matte photos, but I used up all my matte top coat on PPU and I thought I had an extra bottle, but I was wrong. So I ordered more and am waiting on it to arrive.

Okay – lets jump on in to this.

Glisten & Glow | Janis

Janis Joplin is one of my mom’s favorites and growing up – she would bring her up in any convo regarding great music.

Janis is a vibrant purple jelly base loaded with ultrachrome chameleon flakes that shift from blue to purple to aqua to red to orange, as well as purple reflective glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Glisten & Glow | Amy

Amy Winehouse was one that sadly everyone kind of felt like this would happen, but always had that spark of hope that things would turn around. I remember seeing tabloids and Perez Hilton type publications worried about her. Of all of the Gone Too Soon artists in this set – hers was the only one that took place where the internet was so “in your face” that you basically got a play by play of her life on a constant basis.

Amy is a black crelly base loaded with copper metallic flakes, gold shimmer and black reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Glisten & Glow | Jimi

Jimi is an artist my uncle talked about CONSTANTLY. My uncle is really big into music (MASSIVE record collection) and you cannot bring up music without him bringing up Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi is a leafy green crelly base loaded with iridescent color shifting flakes that shift from purple to pink to orange to yellow to green to blue. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

These flakes absolutely POP in this base color. I’m not a fan of green – but this is my top pick in this set purely due to the color play.

Glisten & Glow | Kurt

Kurt Cobain is the first celebrity death that I remember hearing about. I was in 6th grade when he passed away. At the time, the album Nevermind was still huge at my school.

Kurt is a medium grey crelly base with neon blue and navy blue hex and dot glitters ranging from micro to medium. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Glisten & Glow | Gone Too Soon Collection

I do love the inspiration behind the collection and remembering some of the greats in music. It’s unfortunate that their stories can be so tragic but they inspired so much in their short time on this earth through their music.

I’m honestly really not good with words when it comes to death/loss. I’ve experienced a lot of loss in my life and it’s just hard for me to put into words what I want to say. It’s one of the only subjects that I really just go quiet with, so … if something I type seems short, it’s me being awkward more than anything.
