Today I have a new facial cleaning device on the blog, the Foreo Luna. What is the Foreo Luna? It is a silicone facial brush for combination skin that channels both T-sonic pulsations for deep and gentle cleansing, and lower-frequency pulsations to reduce the signs of aging.
There are a few different types of Foreo Luna, the blue one I have is for combination skin, there is a white one for ultra sensitive skin, a pink one for normal to sensitive skin, and a black one for men.
The Foreo Luna device comes with the device itself, a charger and a carrying bag to keep it all together. Looks wise, it’s a little odd compared to what I’m use to, but it’s a cute, compact facial cleansing device.
It’s a little on the wide side, but it does fit in my palm fairly easily and the size is small enough to make traveling with it easier than my True Glow by Conair Sonic Skincare Solution.
Now there are pros and cons to the Foreo Luna.
The Pros
One of the main pros I found was that it was easy to clean and doesn’t require you to purchase brush heads after certain periods of time. That means that once you’ve purchased the Foreo Luna, you no longer need to sink money into it.
The silicone bristles will not contaminate your skin because bacteria won´t grow in it since it dries completely.
The charge on it also lasts a long time. I’ve used this daily for 2 weeks now and it’s still on the first charge cycle, so that’s amazing for traveling. I would still bring the charger because I’m like that, but if I forget it, I wouldn’t panic.
If you do have sensitive skin, the silicone bristles are easier on the skin and don’t seem to irritate as much as a traditional brush head would on a Clarisonic or the Conair device.
The Cons
I do find the device a little uncomfortable to hold. While it’s slim, it’s wide. I have almost lost my grip on it a couple times, usually I recover the fumble, but I have dropped it twice. On the bright side, it seems to hold up like a champ and hasn’t broken yet.
While it is gentler on the skin, I don’t feel like my skin got a squeaky clean feel. I seemed to get more blackheads using it, which leads me to believe it isn’t really “getting in there” for the deeper cleaning I need.
I had trouble getting into some areas of my face, like the crevice between my nose and cheek. There wasn’t a good enough edge to accomplish this, and I get a lot of dry skin and gunk in that area.
Overview
While I liked this handy little device, for me the cons outweighed the pros – so I won’t be switching to it permanently. It’s nice for travel, but that’s about it for me. I will continue to use my True Glow by Conair Sonic Skincare Solution instead.
Is this a must have skincare device? Not for me. I have heard some rave reviews about it, but it really just isn’t for me.
