Elevation Polish Naughty by Nature Collection Swatches and Review

Elevation Polish is releasing the Naughty by Nature Collection on November 7th and I have the full 6 piece collection on the blog today to show you!

The big change to this collection – these are all water based polishes!  There are many advantages to water based polishes and I will go over a few of them at the bottom of the post!  Let’s take a look at this gorgeous collection first

Volcanic Dust

Volcanic Dust is a glossy brick red creme.  I used 2 coats for this photo and the formula and application are absolutely PERFECT.  I already know I will be using this beauty a lot in the coming months, both on it’s own and as a base color for glitter top coats.

Naked Night Sky

Naked Night Sky is a light chocolate brown jelly base with dusty blue hex glitters, silver hex and square glitter, and mint circle glitter suspended within.  I used 3 coats for this photo.

Forest of the Fog

Forest of the Fog is a dark blue jelly base with blue and violet micro shimmer and flakes.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Pitaraq

Pitaraq is a lovely shimmer packed clear base with ice blue, silver and white shimmer and micro flakes mixed in.  I used 1 coat over Forest of the Fog.

Darkest Storm

Darkest Storm is the holographic beauty of the collection.  Darkest Storm is a deep blue linear holographic.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

You get a decent holo effect in normal lighting as shown above.  Below is under artificial lighting to show the effect better.  Also – the label says Darkest Night, but it’s actually Darkest Storm :)

Black Ice

Black Ice is one of my favorites from the collection and the only matte within the collection.  Black Ice is a matte black base packed with silver shimmer and a dash of blue and violet shimmer as well.  The silver shimmer is definitely the star of the shimmer, but I adore the flashes of blue and violet when the lighting hits just right!

I love the different shades within this collection, they are different enough from each other to justify needing all of them!

Now to go back to these being water based (which I wasn’t told until after I tried them by the way!) there are benefits to using water based.  Basically when a polish is water based the chemical solvents are replaced by water, so when it evaporates into the air – there are no toxic fumes being inhaled.   You can still use normal nail polish remover with it – both acetone and non acetone but there are also other methods to use.  Water based polishes are also less likely to stain your nails (which I know many of you will love!).  Elevation Polish may not make all future polishes water based, but I am happy to see she did so with this collection.  I couldn’t tell the difference application wise and wouldn’t have known they were water based until she told me, so rest assured – the quality of these polishes were not compromised in comparison to her past creations by going water based.
