A few months ago I joined a new network that is specifically geared toward Instagram and Youtube.  While I love my blog, sometimes I get a little overwhelmed when work is busier and my son’s schedule is all over the place. The network is Octoly (for those curious) and it allows me to try out new brands and do mini reviews or features on my Instagram account.

Tonight’s review is on a product I got through Octoly and I decided to do the mini Instagram feature as well as expand it into a normal post. That review is on the E.L.F. Pink Kiss Tinted Lip Oil.

I’ve seen a few different tinted lip oils over the last 2 months and I actually enjoy them. I’m not really a gloss girl because the tacky feeling of gloss bothers me a little. Tinted lip oils are generally really smooth, moisturizing and offer the shine of a gloss without the overly sticky feeling. The pigmentation is very light. I find they are perfect for days you want a hint of color but still stick to the barely there look.

I tried E.L.F. Pink Kiss Tinted Lip Oil and find it to pretty much be the perfect barely there shade on my lips. Pink Kiss is a barely there, sheer baby pink. With my lip pigmentation it almost looks non existent.

The applicator is a doe foot applicator that curves in on one side for a very comfortable application. The precision tip allows you to stay in the lines and do thin coats, which is really all that’s needed.

I did a swipe on my arm to show the color a bit better. With my lip pigmentation it barely shows up at all (which you’ll see in a moment)

E.L.F. tinted lip oil adds a hint of color to lips while creating a luminous shine for healthy looking lips. They are enriched with nourishing Jojoba, Apricot, and Vitamin E to moisturize the lips. My lips feel softer while it’s on, and they don’t feel greasy or slippery. I don’t layer it on, I generally just do 1 coat and I’m good to go.

As I mentioned earlier, with my lighter skin, this is the perfect “barely there” shade.

Yes, my lips are wrinkly. I’m 35 and it’s just how they are.

E.L.F. Pink Kiss Tinted Lip Oil Overview

After trying out E.L.F. Pink Kiss Tinted Lip Oil, I liked it so much I purchased Berry Kiss and Coral Kiss. There are 5 total colors available (I am missing Nude Kiss and Shimmer Red Kiss) and I might pick them all up eventually. Some days I don’t want to bother with lipstick, but I need a wash of color on my lips so I don’t look ill. For lighter days or errand running, E.L.F. Tinted Lip Oils are pretty much perfect.

Price: $6.00 Each

Where To Buy: E.L.F. Website

At $6.00 each, this is actually one of E.L.F.’s pricier single items. I don’t have an issue with the price tag, but other brands are coming out with tinted lip oils as well, and I’m sure there are some out there for less. As of now, I’ve tried 3 different brands and this was actually the least expensive of them. I have Too Faced Oil Lip Gloss ($19) and Lancome Juicy Shaker Lip Oil ($22) and they perform about the same as E.L.F. Tinted Lip Oil. Lancome and Too Faced have a larger color variety available though.

So what are your thoughts? Have you tried tinted lip oils yet? I’d love to hear which ones and if you think they are worth it in the comments below!

You have normal lips – don’t apologise. They are supposed to be mobile and stretchy, like knees and elbows… It’s not a matter of age.
I love your blog. :)
