I know it’s nearing the end of Summer and some Fall collections have been creeping in, but I have a fabulous Summer set to share with you. The Deborah Lippmann 80’s Rewind Collection!
I was born in the early 80’s, so a lot of these songs I didn’t come to love and appreciate until they were considered “classics” when I was in high school. A few of these songs can be heard in the car, being belted out by my son and I while we drive an hour to his school in the morning.
Let’s kick this off with my son’s favorite…
Don’t Stop Believin’
Don’t Stop Believin is an amazingly bright red-orange creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat. This one just has that juicy jelly look while having the amazing opacity of a creme.
Maniac
Maniac is a grape purple creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
She Drives Me Crazy
She Drives Me Crazy is a teal creme that heavily leans green. I used 2 coats for these photos, and I didn’t experience any staining with this shade.
Walking On Sunshine
Walking On Sunshine is a bright, sunny, yellow creme. This was the only one of the 6 shades that I needed to use 3 coats on. The first 2 coats had some streaking but the third leveled it all out nicely.
Whip It
Whip It is a cool toned pink crelly shade that is so juicy looking. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Video Killed The Radio Star
To me, this is the perfect blue creme. Video Killed The Radio Star (and that song has been stuck in my head since I read the label) is a mid tone blue that is just on the line of being perfectly in between ‘bright’ and ‘dull’. Hard to explain and I hope that made sense! I used 2 perfect coats for these photos.
Overview
Whether you were an 80’s child or not, these songs are amazing and I was getting lyrics stuck in my head left and right as I was putting each color on. Application was perfect on each one and they only needed 2 coats, except Walking On Sunshine which required 3.
While these may not seem like the most unique of shades, they are perfect for capturing the 80’s retro feel, and with a perfect formula, they are worth a little splurge.
