What? A Holiday collection? Fall JUST started! I know, I know.. but once again I did a sneak peek and had PM’s asking when the post would be up because they saw the shades for sale already but hadn’t seen any swatches or reviews yet, so I pushed it forward a bit.
This Holiday Color Club takes us to the twinkling lights of New York. I personally have only been there once with my boyfriend and his family and it was an amazing experience (minus the blisters on my feet from walking so much). We were there in December of 2012 so it was also chillier than I am use to. California doesn’t get that cold!
Anyways, onto the collection. Made In New York consists of 3 opaque shades and 4 shimmery top coats. Lets take a look!
Off Duty
Off Duty is a metallic coppery orange. Brush strokes were visible in application, but thats fairly typical of metallic shades. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Apple Of My Eye
Apple of My Eye was one of my favorite shades. This is a gorgeous deep berry shade with a silvery pearl like look. I used 2 coats for these photos. The first coat looked thin and I thought it would require more than 2 coats, so I was really happy when I applied the second coat and had a fully opaque polish.
Night At The Met
Night At The Met is a dusty blue with fine silver shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Lady Liberty
Lady Liberty is a beautiful shimmery teal green top coat. I used 1 coat over Night At The Met and truly love this combo.
I have 4 shimmers to show and this is the first. After I show all 4 I will have 2 photos showing all of the shimmers over a white creme and a black creme.
Concrete Jungle
Concrete Jungle is a shimmery top coat with pink, blue and pearly white shimmer. This is the most densely packed shimmer of the 4 and can probably be used on its own in just 2 or 3 coats. I used 1 coat over Apple of My Eye.
Million Dollar Listing
Million Dollar Listing is a gold shimmer top coat. I used 1 coat over a pale green creme.
Bright Lights, Big City
Bright Lights, Big City is a shimmery pink and gold top coat. I used 1 coat over a vibrant purple creme.
One thing, the label on the bottom of mine has a typo. It says “Bright Kights, Big City”
Shimmers Over White
The colors are a little hard to see over the white, but you can catch glimpses.

Shimmers Over Black
These shimmers come alive over darker shades. You can see on this photo that you get lighter coverage with Bright Lights, Big City and Million Dollar Listing. Lady Liberty is medium coverage and Concrete Jungle is close to full coverage.

Overview
This is the first Holiday 2014 collection I’ve posted and it was a good start. The shimmers are the stars of this collection for me. I like the versatility of shimmery top coats and sometimes I like adding a little oomph to a mani without using glitter. Off Duty was the only polish with any application issues, but the brush strokes are fairly common with metallic like shades, so it was expected. Aside from that, the formulas on all 7 shades was flawless and consistencies were good.
