China Glaze Sunsational Swatches & Review Part 2 The Jellies

China Glaze Sunsational Swatches & Review Part 2 The Jellies

Press Sample

I showed you Part 1 earlier tonight, and I honestly didn’t expect to get Part 2 done so quickly!  The China Glaze Sunsational Collection contained 6 cremes and 6 jellies – Part 1 was the cremes, so now it’s time for the jellies!

Ready to see the jellies?  Take a look!

You Drive Me Coconuts:

You Drive Me Coconuts was my favorite of the 6 jellies!  Why?  Well for starters it’s a gorgeous hot neon pink.  The other reason?  It took 2 coats for good opacity.  That’s right – TWO!  I love jellies that save me time!

Heat Index:

Heat Index is another neon pink in the collection, slightly lighter than You Drive Me Coconuts.  I used 3 coats for this photo, and it’s another gorgeous jelly!

Shell-O:

Another favorite!  I’ve used this about 4 times now before I did this review.  Shell-O is a neon coral jelly.  Perfect for summer!

Are You Jelly?:

I love the name for this one!  Are You Jelly is a bright (but I wouldn’t call it neon) purple jelly.  This one required 3 coats, which is about what is expected of a jelly!

Closeup:

Keepin’ It Teal:

Keepin’ It Teal was a little sheerer than the previous 4.  I needed 4 coats for this lovely bright teal color.  I wouldn’t classify this as a neon either – but it is bright!

Isle See You Later:

This one was the flop for me – and I hate to say that about polish.  I LOVE polish.  Isle See You Later required 6 coats for me to be happy with the opacity.  That’s right. SIX.  Part of the issue was me, I’ll admit that.  I have slightly yellow tinged tips from a swatchfest I did and I was out of basecoat, and really – I asked for the nail staining I got.  It’s growing out, but even at 5 coats, you could see the staining through the polish.  If you don’t have staining – 4 or 5 coats should work.  If you do – good luck.  Isle See You Later is a blue jelly, again, not neon, but it is bright.

Closeup:

The 6 Jellies were honestly hit and miss, some were phenomenal while others just weren’t up to par for me.  I don’t think I will hassle with Isle See You Later again, but my top pics that I will use again are Heat Index, You Drive Me Coconuts and Shell-O.  The  Cremes were definitely more “me”.  Really, it’s preference though!

These will make some great Jelly Sandwiches, but the cremes won me over!

I was really excited for these especially the blue, teal and purple, but bummed that most people did 5 - 6 coats on the blue, so skipping it. I really like Shell-o and the others! Do you know how Shell-o compares to Flip Flop Fantasy?

Color-wise, that is!

I actually do not have flip flop fantasy so I'm not sure!
