Today I have the China Glaze Road Trip Collection for Spring 2015 and I am actually really happy with this collection. The colors are vibrant and the shades with warm coppery shimmer are just beautiful. I am so ready for Spring colors and it’s nice to start seeing pops of bright shades after months of deep vampy ones. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my vampy lacquers, but the sun is coming out and I’m ready for Spring!
This is a 12 piece collection full of creme shades that look great alone, or will make beautiful base colors for fun glitters.
Trip Of A Lime Time
Trip Of A Lime Time is a yellow leaning lime creme. I had a little issue with application for Trip of a Lime Time and it was streaky for me. I used 3 coats for these photos and on the third coat it seemed to cover the streaks.
My Way Or The Highway
My Way Or The Highway is a vibrant turquoise creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and did not experience any staining with this shade.
License & Registration Pls
License & Registration Pls is a marine blue creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and I did not experience any staining with this shade either.
Boho Blues
This is my favorite shade in the collection. I loved the shimmers you will see in a moment, but this color is just amazing. Boho Blues is a soft indigo creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
More To Explore
More To Explore is a bright, yet soft coral creme. I was rather impressed that the formula for this was so easy to work with, I have similar shades that were streaky but this was spot on. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Pinking Out The Window
Pinking Out The Window is a pink salmon creme. Again, beautiful formula and easy to work with. I used 2 coats for these photos.
I Brake For Colour
I Brake For Colour is another favorite of mine. This is a vibrant pink leaning red creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Pop The Trunk
Pop The Trunk is a bright orange creme. When I saw the bottles of Pop The Trunk and I Brake For Colour side by side, they looked really close together, but on the nail there is an obvious difference. Both are really pretty though and a perfect formula.
These photos have 2 coats.
Sun’s Up, Top Down
I saved the shimmery shades for last!
Sun’s Up, Top Down is a bright, sunny yellow with copper shimmer. The shimmer isn’t a loud shimmer, but when lighting hits it just right, it’s amazing. I used 3 thin coats for these photos. I did notice that my bottle of Sun’s Up, Top Down was a little on the thick side which made application tricky, but it was also not tightened all the way when it arrived, so I don’t know if it thickened a little in transit or if that’s just how it is.
Dashboard Dreamer
Dashboard Dreamer is a complete Cinderella like color. This is a beautiful powder blue with fine coppery shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Wanderlust
Wanderlust is a beautiful light lilac with coppery shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Pack Lightly
Pack Lightly is a light peach creme with fine copper shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Overview
I am really happy with this collection for Spring. I love the route China Glaze went with the 4 shimmery shades and a small part of me wishes all 12 shades had that same shimmer. Overall application wasn’t bad at all for these shades, I only had issues with Trip of a Lime Time and Sun’s Up Top Down, the rest applied smooth and creamy.
