Today I have the new China Glaze Limited Edition Collection, The Giver to share with you! This was a collection I absolutely couldn’t wait to get and it was so worth it!
This is a collection of 12 polishes. 10 cremes and 2 glitters. I was surprised that some of the shades are fairly unique to my collection. Not all of them, but a few.
Capacity To See Beyond
Capacity To See Beyond is a bright aqua blue creme. Hands down my favorite of the collection and it’s the brightest in the collection. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Community
Community is a fairly standard brown creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Five Rules
Five Rules is a pale clay colored creme. It’s a pale grey with a tinge of beige. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Friends Forever, Right?
Friends Forever, Right? is quite possibly the softest baby pink I have ever seen. It’s almost white. I actually found the formula of this one to be a little thicker than the rest and required 3 thin coats for these photos. It was workable, but thick.
Givers Theme
Givers Theme is a vivid violet creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
History Of The World
History Of The World is a navy creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Intelligence, Integrity and Courage
Intelligence, Integrity and Courage is a grey-blue creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
New Birth
New Birth is another interesting shade like Friends Forever, Right? This is an incredibly pale baby blue, to the point it almost appears white. There is just the slightest tinge of blue. I used 3 thin coats for these photos as the first 2 were slightly patchy.
Release
Release is a greyish lavender creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Seeing Red
Seeing Red is a classic red creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and found the consistency a little thinner than the other shades, so be careful on application as it could be easy to flood the cuticles.
The Outer Edge
The Outer Edge is a glitter topper with a clear base and small white and silver glitters mixed in. I used 1 coat over Seeing Red for these photos.
Boundary Of Memory
Boundary Of Memory is a clear base packed with black, gold and amber microglitters. This densely packed glitter only required 2 coats to reach full opacity. I used 2 coats of top coat to smooth it out completely.
Overview
Overall, it may not seem like the most exciting collection as far as colors go, but there are a few I don’t recall already having in my collection. The formulas were really good for the most part. I did find Friends Forever, Right? to be a bit on the thicker side while Seeing Red was on the thinner side, but both shades were still manageable.
The release of the collection coincides with the debut of the China Glaze® The Giver consumer and beauty trade advertising campaign featuring the story’s Fiona.
