It’s Fall! Time to break out the scarves and sweaters, pumpkin all the things and paint those nails slightly deeper hues. We all know how much I love painting my nails (I do have over 10,000 bottles of polish, so it’s fair to say I have an obsession) and most days I just want to get home from work, get into my pajamas, light a candle and paint away.
I received a Diamond Candles in the scent Pumpkin Cupcake to try out. If you haven’t heard of Diamond Candles before, they are large (21 oz) soy candles in a variety of scents to choose from and each one has a ring nestled inside the wax. Once you’ve burned the candle for a bit, you will see the foil pack the ring is in and you can use tweezers or a spoon to take it out of the wax and reveal the ring. The rings are totally random, so you really don’t know what type it will be until you open it.
See that gold spot? That’s how you know where the ring is located in your candle!
The ring you receive might be worth $10 or it might be worth $5,000 – it’s always a surprise!
The ring in my candle wasn’t a big $5,000 one, but it was still a nice little pink solitaire ring (which matches my blog colors!) Inside the foil was also a small folded note letting me know my ring was worth $10.
Diamond Candles are soy candles, so they burn for a longer period of time. My ring was about two inches down inside the wax and that took a good 7 hours to burn to get to. Now that the ring is out, I still have a ton of candle to burn before it’s all used up.
Pumpkin Cupcake scent is a rich blend of pumpkin puree, fresh ginger, nutmeg and raisin with top notes of coconut, brown sugar and maple. I didn’t find the fragrance overwhelming at all and the spiced kick from the nutmeg and ginger helped mellow out the sweetness nicely.
Of course, as you can see in the above photo, I needed to pair the candle with a polish, and Cupcake Polish supplied Cocoon from her Butterfly collection to go along with my Diamond Candles Pumpkin Cupcake (get it.. cupcake?) scented candle!
If you’ve been following me for a bit, you know I’ve featured Cupcake Polish on my blog quite a bit, and it’s one of my favorite indie polish brands.
Cupcake Polish Cocoon was a nice matching addition to the Diamond Candles Pumpkin Cupcake candle. Cupcake Polish Cocoon is a coppery orange linear holographic and applied beautifully in 2 coats.
Perfect Fall shade with some sparkle to go along with my Diamond Candles!
We’re getting closer and closer to the holidays, and seeing friends and family more and more that these both make fabulous gifts for either yourself (no one said you can’t treat yourself…) or for loved ones.
Diamond Candles are $24.99 and you get a long lasting, pleasantly fragranced soy candle with a surprise ring inside. They come in a variety of scents (although I do recommend Pumpkin Cupcake for the season!) to please just about anyone on your shopping list.
Cupcake Polish is $13.00 for a 15ml bottle and comes in a variety of shades and finishes. Cocoon was used in the photos above.
You can go through both shops and mix and match candles to polishes for all seasons and occasions!
