My son and I couldn’t wait to try this out! He decided he wanted to get fresh strawberries and blueberries to use on the Big Boss Swirlio, so when we got home from the store, I washed them, sliced them and put them in the freezer.
Once they were frozen, we loaded them into the chute at the top of the Swirlio!
I realized they weren’t frozen all the way through while doing this part, but it was still frozen enough to make a cold treat.
This was definitely more like a slushie for us – and my son was perfectly happy with that!
Since getting this Big Boss Swirlio my son has been OBSESSED with it. It does make a nice frozen treat and fairly quickly.
It is easy to set up and use, doesn’t make too much noise – BUT cleaning it takes a bit and you may want to pick up a bottle brush to clean out the chute.

Overall – I love having this. It’s quick and easy to use and for it’s great for Summer time snacks and dessert! I will say though, a blender can do pretty much the same thing… and a blender is actually much easier to clean. Would I purchase a Swirlio while having a working blender? Probably not in all honesty. If you love kitchen gadgets – then this is fun to have.
