PR only, I did not accept compensation for this post.

Happy Thursday! Today I am sharing the Bee’s Knees Lacquer From Blood & Ash Collection Part 2!

Fun fact: I am a huge book nerd. Huge. I read a lot and have since around the 2nd grade. Almost everyone in my home growing up was big on reading, so once I hit around 6th grade I was reading larger books we had around the house. Dean R. Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, HG Wells, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, John Grisham, Sue Grafton.. those are the ones I remember most from when I was in Junior High/High School.

As I got older and moved out, I still stuck to Sue Grafton (had to finish the “alphabet series” and that will never be complete considering she passed away before Z was done) but as Kindle came into play more – I ventured into more romance or fantasy fiction genre and found Jennifer L. Armentrout. Once I pretty much blew through books under that name, I found she also writes under J. Lynn so I went through those. I still keep up with what new books both author’s names have coming and preorder ahead.

When I saw Part 2 of the From Blood and Ash collection was coming to BKL – I was pumped. Truth be told – her Covenant Series and Lux Series books are my top 2, but you really can’t go wrong with any of her series.

Alright, these release tomorrow – so lets take a look.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Bad Influence

Bad Influence is a pearlized baby pink pastel multichrome that shifts to raspberry to orange to green at extreme angles. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

VNL was still present, so you may want to use a blurring base coat if you prefer.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Soul Eater

Soul Eater is a sheer sky blue jelly based pastel multichrome that shifts cobalt blue to purple to pink. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The lavender/purple tones on this polish showed the most for me, while the baby blue base peaked through.

VNL was still present, so you may want to use a blurring base coat if you prefer.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | I Have So Many Questions

I Have So Many Questions is a sheer aqua jelly based pastel multichrome that shifts emerald green to blue to violet. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

VNL was still present, so you may want to use a blurring base coat if you prefer.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | To Take Back What Is Mine

To Take Back What Is Mine is the cornflower blue sister polish to Doomicorn! This is a cornflower blue jelly base with bright green to aqua shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade wasn’t as sheer as some of the others, however, if you have a strong VNL it is possible it may still show through this polish.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Blood of the Gods

Blood of the Gods is another favorite of mine! This is a pink sister to Doomicorn. Blood of the Gods is a cotton candy pink jelly base with bright green to aqua shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

VNL was still present, so you may want to use a blurring base coat if you prefer.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Uncomfortably Curious

Uncomfortable Curious is a vibrant coral jelly base with glowy green to pink shimmer and microflecks. The microflecks resembled large particle shimmer and blend nicely. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The combo of shimmer and microflecks give this shade an almost pearlized finish look as you build up coats.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Lamaea

Lamaea is a rich violet base packed with jewel toned shimmer that shifts from green to blue to purple. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is one of the more opaque shades in the set. Had I used normal coats instead of thinner ones, I could have gotten away with just 2 coats. The purple shift is more apparent in person.

BKL did issue a warning that the violet base might stain, however I did not experience any staining. Please be cautious though and use a base coat.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Elementals

Elementals is a muted pumpkin spice linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The official description says a dark honey colored linear holo, but I altered the description to what I see. In some lighting more of a deep, almost burnt honey shade comes out but in others it looks more like a muted pumpkin spice.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | From Blood & Ash Collection Part 2

A lot of the shades in this collection may require you to use a VNL blurring base coat if you aren’t particularly fond of seeing VNL. I personally don’t mind it – however I do have Kiara Sky Gelly Tips on and they are slightly more clear, so I don’t have an opaque VNL.

Many of the sheerer shades have shimmer that offer an illusion of opacity in brighter lighting, but in lower lighting – that illusion will vanish.
