Over the years I have found that I really prefer handmade soap over store purchased. The scents are more lively to me and often times I find the quality to be amazing! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come across some duds over the years, but I have also discovered some amazing small businesses that excel at making soaps! The Alberta Soap Company is definitely one that excels!
I was sent 2 soaps to review in the scents Applejack and Vanilla Hazelnut!
To start, I like the simple, yet pretty packaging. The soaps arrived in these pretty boxes. The boxes are sturdy and for me, pleasing to the eye.
Inside the boxes I found these vibrant, gorgeous soaps! Almost too pretty to use! The green one is Applejack and the brown one is Vanilla Hazelnut.
Applejack
Applejack is a new scent in the Alberta Handmade Soap holiday lineup. Applejack soap is a fragrant blend of apples and spices, with just a hint of that hard alcohol “bite”. Very refreshing for this time of year and my favorite soap of the two. I got a good lather from it and it left me feeling moisturized! The scent lingered for just a bit, and the spice scent makes this a great unisex soap as well (for the men who aren’t big into fruity scents!)
Ingredients: Applejack was made with our House Blend oils (our exclusive blend of tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and cocoa butter), plus premium fragrance oil, sodium lactate, oatmeal, kaolin clay, and micas/oxides (colour)
Vanilla Hazelnut
Vanilla Hazelnut is a best seller for the Alberta Handmade Soap Company! It has a rich, warm vanilla and toasted hazelnut scent that isn’t sugary sweet, so again – would work great for both men and women! I got a decent lather and it was moisturizing! The scent lingered a bit longer with Vanilla Hazelnut and it blended well with my vanilla perfumes.
Ingredients: Vanilla Hazelnut was made with our House Blend oils (our exclusive blend of tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and cocoa butter), plus premium fragrance oil, sodium lactate, oatmeal, kaolin clay, and cocoa powder (colour)
Overview
If you like to support small businesses and have amazing soaps in your arsenal, then you really should give the Alberta Handmade Soap Co a try! They have several scents to choose from with delicious smelling combinations, as well as unscented soap for those who want the nice moisturized lather but aren’t keen on scented products. These would make great gifts, or would make pretty displays in bathrooms. I will be using mine up though!
Price: $5.99 each

The Alberta Handmade Soap Co. also makes bath bombs, lip balms and lotions if you like matching up scents and layering them! The price is reasonable and the quality is worth EVERY penny! I definitely have my eye on a few more soaps they carry.
