Happy New Years! It’s day 2 of the 10 Year Blog Anniversary Giveaway, and today brings Part 1 of Fair Maiden Polish’s donation.
Fair Maiden Polish generously donated two polishes, so I’m splitting them into separate giveaways. They also donated 4 giveaway polishes for each shade.
To reiterate my starter post:
So to celebrate my 10 years of constant posts – I have asked for maker volunteers to create a custom polish for a series of giveaways! Each maker donated at least 2 bottles of a custom – one for me to swatch and keep for the milestone and one to giveaway. If you are a maker and would like to participate and missed the original post – email me at Lisa@Cosmeticsanctuary.com
While they made the custom for my blog – makers were given permission to release the custom at a later date. Not all will do this – some literally made it but didn’t save a recipe while others do intend to release it later. So I did make sure there was no exclusivity to the polish, and it’s up to the makers discretion.
Each maker had free rein to create what they wished to. I am a swatcher and not a maker for a reason and each individual maker has their own signature touch.
Today’s polish also has a story attached to the name… which I forgot Fair Maiden Polish (and Nichole of The Crafty Taco since she helped name it) knew this story.
10 Year Blog Anniversary | Fair Maiden Polish Part 1
Temper Tantrum is a vibrant fuchsia jelly base with scattered holo micro glitters, blue shimmer and blue iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Annnnnd… story time.
Back in 2013 or 2014 – I worked on and off with the owner of Elevation Polish. Those who have been around awhile remember this maker. Her polishes were inspired by trips she made… hikes she went on… her worldly travels and blah blah blah. She had her share of heart break and loss but had a government job (I believe it was government) as a translator and knew some stupid high number of languages fluently.
She was also a liar.
Her lies unraveled in mid to late 2015 and things started coming out. Her worldly travels and photographic proof were stolen from a travel blog out of another country. She was not a translator and people in her life that she claimed passed away were still alive and kicking. Oh and the cancer she claimed to have? Also false.
Well, then people in the nail community that I spoke to and we seemed to be on friendly terms but things were always a little off… they started apologizing to me because the maker of Elevation Polish had lies about me too.
Apparently when I don’t get my way with makers… she claimed that I would throw some epic temper tantrums. This was news to me and it was apparently why some makers shied away from me just in case. Some of those same makers I started working with shortly after all of this came to light and I have worked with them since.
To this day, some people that know about this story from back then – I will jokingly say that I will throw a temper tantrum over weird little things.
Thank you to Sarah and Adrienne for your donation and for working with me since your brand launched.
