Zoya Winter/Holiday 2014 Wishes Collection Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Tonight I have the Zoya Wishes Collection for Winter/Holiday 2014 to show you!  They mixed things up a bit and instead of a collection of PixieDusts and a collection of cremes/shimmers/etc, Zoya mixed it up with 3 PixieDusts and 3 standard shades.

Let’s start with the PixieDusts!  All 3 are Magical PixieDusts which is the newest of the PixieDust types.

Thea

Thea

Thea is a deep amethyst matte-like jelly base packed with silver holographic micro glitter and medium holographic hex glitters.  I used 2 coats for these photos.  The last photo will show Thea with top coat.

Overview

Overall, I do like this collection but I’m not completely in love with it.  I don’t think I’ve completely grasped Magical PixieDusts quite yet and it’s holding me back.  I do love textures, but the original PixieDusts are still my favorite and a part of me is still holding onto the love of those and hoping that the original PixieDust collection is expanded at some point.  The Magical PixieDusts are pretty and they don’t have that gritty texture of the other PixieDusts, and while I like them, I don’t love them.

Haven was my favorite shade by far and definitely my top pick from the 6 shades in the Wishes Collection!

Application wise, I had no issues other than some brush strokes in Prim, which is common for metallic shades for the most part.

Price:

Willa, Prim & Haven: $9.00 each

Nori, Thea & Imogen: $10.00 each

Your swatches are gorgeous. I’m not on board with the magical pixies either – they look much better with topcoat than they do as textureds.

Haven is hands down the prettiest of this collex. Your swatches are impeccable but I’m just not feelin it for the Magical Pixies either.

Not a fan of the pixie glitters either. Texture just isn’t my thing. Your swatches of them are still beautiful though! :)

I loved these Pixies because I can’t stand the sandy texture teehee. You made them all look gorgeous though!

Even though they are beautiful I’m just not that into the Pixie Dust’s anymore. Prim is my favorite from this collection.

I agree with you – Haven is definitely the winner of the collection. And I think the Magical Pixies are my least favorite Pixies. I also prefer the original PixieDusts!

I didn’t care for the pixies in this collection sadly. But Haven & Prim are winners!

Great swatches! Yeah, these Magical Pixies look nice with topcoat, but I don’t love them in their intended state.

The new Pixies are gorgeous, but I agree, for a textured polish I preferred the original pixies…
