Starlight Polish Mythological Night & New Chimera Line

A few months back I did a review for Starlight Polish and showed some of the Aurora and Mythological Aurora top coats. All of these shades are named after mythological creatures (Dragon, Phoenix, etc) and Starlight Polish has since expanded on this line! So tonight, I’ll be sharing the Mythological Night collection, as well as the new addition to the Mythological line up – Chimera!

This is going to be a rather long post, as you can see from the above collage. So grab a drink, have a seat and let’s look over this shimmery goodness!

If you want to revisit my previous post – please do!

Just a quick overview though – The original 4 Mythological Creatures are: Phoenix, Dragon, Unicorn and Kelpie. Previously they were available in a couple finishes: Song (holographic), Aurora (with added iridescent color shifting glitters), and original (just the color shifting pigment)

With the addition of Night and Aurora Night, you can now find them in a black base with both just the shifting pigment as well as the pigment and iridescent glitters. Previously they were top coats that could go over any colors.

On top of those additions, Starlight Polish has now introduced Chimera to the lineup and you will see it in all 5 finishes available as well!

We’re going to kick this off with Chimera, then move into the new Mythological Night Collection!

Chimera

Chimera is a color shifting top coat that was created by combining all 4 shifting pigments from the other 4 Mythological Top Coats. This one doesn’t have the typical, obvious shift the others have BUT it sure does sparkle when light hits it.

I used 1 coat over a black creme base for these photos.

Chimera Song Aurora

Chimera Aurora is the same as Chimera but with the addition of iridescent glitters added. I used 1 coat over a black creme base for these photos.

Chimera Song

Chimera Song is the same base top coat as Chimera, but with a linear holographic effect. I used 1 coat over a black creme base.

Chimera Night

Chimera Night is the Chimera shifting shimmer in a black crelly base. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Chimera Aurora Night

Chimera Aurora Night is a black crelly base packed with the Chimera shifting shimmer and iridescent glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

So there is Chimera and it’s the newest addition. Now we’ll move onto the rest of the Mythological Night Collection (Chimera Night and Chimera Aurora Night are part of the new collection, but I wanted to show them with the rest of Chimera!)

There are also 2 additions to the existing Mythological polish line that fall into “Kelpie polishes” and it completes the existing set of of Mythological polishes in colored jelly bases.

Kelpie Hair

Kelpie Hair is a bright yellow toned green jelly base with the Kelpie shifting shimmer within it. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos, and the more layers you use, the deeper the green base is.

Kelpie Glamour

Kelpie Glamour is like Kelpie Hair, but with the linear holographic flair. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you aren’t aware – Glamour is a supernatural form of mental compulsion. If you watched True Blood – it’s familiar to you… but this isn’t Vampire specific like it was in True Blood.

Starlight Polish Mythological Night & New Chimera Line Overview

I adore shifting polishes, so this whole collection and new additions got me excited. If you tend to wear them over black anyways, then Night or Aurora Night finishes are more your style. Lots of mix and match options available here to suit your needs.

I had no application issues with any of these shades.
